Working Project - HID Projector Fog lights Mod
- I just got to testing the wiring today ta make sure it lighted up. Did not want to go nuts removing the bumper first. Test Results was a :dblthumb: Both turned on and it's time to Proceed! I know how much people loves pics so here's some preliminary ones of me laying it all out first.

Removing the halogen bulb and replacing it with 6000k HID

Hopefully tomorrow doesn't rain and I can install these :mike

On a completely other note, some people have their cars featured in Magazines, at import shows.... me? Well, after I installed some nerf bars last year, I sent my pics to the seller to get a $20 credit and just yesterday, I realized my car is all up in one of these listings http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/08-11-20 ... 2405wt_939  *Blushing*

Update 1 -Good news and bad news.... Bad News - After market Fogs doesn't fit will but I knew that already. All part of the "Fun" in custom modding right?

Bumper Off
Image

Good news - My Rogue is Pre-Wired for FOGs! how sweet - Now my Dilemma is do I buy some OEM and make it super sleek? or do I "Make it fit"
Image

"Making it Fit" - Using the covers that came with the car I Dremeled out a Hole and slid the Projectors through. Gotta figure out a way to make it look cleaner though. I'll play around with this idea before I go OEM. I slapped the bumper back on because I Now to gotz ta go Celebrate my 30th Birthday ! Decade older, none the wiser :lolling:

Update 2:
Makeshift Bracket but holds the Fog Light securely

Image

Update 3:
Did the other fog light and slapped more CF on. I liked the way this one looked better so re-did the original one as well.[/b]
Image

Finally screwed in but got too tired and dark to finish up the wiring. It was a teaser for me. :woot:

Update 4: Wired and turned on matching 6000k colored Super White/Blue. Only thing missing is some actual Fog. :chuckle: Next up, gonna look for the black gutter guard to fence up the Radiator and put my A-Bar back on. I do like the clean look without it but I rather protect my Roguey from the bumper car parkers out there. :poke: I'll have ta take some pics in the day time.

Update 5:
Started to add CF on the Pillars but the Sun went down leaving me blind. Will finish up tomorrow and I also received my Chrome Molding. Will be adding that too and snapping some shots for Yall :gapteeth:

The molding looks great on its own. I almost made that area above the licence plate black myself but I felt with the tube and the bumper guard my eyes would see 3 levels of black. That would not appeal to me visually. This confirms it.

It probably look better without the tube and bumper protector there. Or at least without the bumper protector. but of course I rather keep that.

Even with my tube and bumper protector, there were a couple of seconds where I thought those two clashed visually before.

This just me of course. :spitout:

Digging that CF look.
If you want to do something really impressive Rebuild the motor or rebuild fuel system for e85 and Boost it.

I'm pretty sure my silly little mods will never be able to impress anyone that can rebuild a motor. I was happy to just get my bumper off without breaking something... =)

Not to mention swapping in a 5MT or something since the CVT is rated to handle something in the neighborhood of only 10 ft-lbs of torque more than the engine makes stock. :chuckle:

Anyway, looking good, oohowieoo!

Looks great. The small little things are what differentiate your vehicle from everyone else's. Keep it up!

Perhaps I should change the title of this Post to "Enjoyable Silly Little Mods" - What can I do next? My wife said to me last night "no more car stuff, pay attention to me". :naughty:

Up next continued Exterior Mods
1) Carbon Fiber some eyes around the projector fogs.
2) Carbon Fiber the Pillars
3) Install/Order Chrome Side Molding piece
4) Install Mesh Screen or Black Gutter Screen to protect cute flying furry animals from the radiator.
5) Make sure I capture pictures of everything I do for the Nico Club

Maybe you should listen to her.
That is why I am all by myself now and that I only see my daughter half the time.

Take a break from the Rogue.

My trick, I try to do a similar mod to my wife's car as well as the Rogue. That often keeps her happy.

IMO, Rogue's fog setup isn't the best. The overall shape of the car has a nice flow to it. But the small fog at bottom corners kinda doesn't go with it. Something similar to Audi would have been great.

Your Rogue looks really good. Good job.

After being rear ended recently :frown: I like the idea of having a protection in front of your bumper. But after I saw what happened to the car that hit me front (literally totalled), I think in case of a collision like this, since your bumper won't absorb the energy, the occupants will be effected more. And I think, since the bar is connected to the frame, the frame of the car can be severely damaged. The welds can be broken and result will be rust...

I guess this bar is designed to protect the car from a stupid driver trying to do parallel parking and "touches" your car...

Could use Projectors for Headlamps. The hid with rogue headlamps make it look Scattered.

Usually Amber lights kills the HID but, on the Rogue It looks pretty good. Reminds me of Corn Candy lol

Drove around tonight for the first time really since installing my projector fogs. There is a noticeable difference on the road and I can definitely see further down with a wider angle of visibility. They also held up to Hurricane Irene and all that rain so that was a big test.

As you can see I am a big fan of the anything dark but shiny (if that makes sense), sporty, and obviously Carbon Fiber. I mean what guy doesn't like Carbon Fiber? Hopefully when all is said and done, with the added chromes and blacks, and neutral dark colors, this Rogue won't look Riced out. I def. appreciate everybody's opinions. I also figured I will continue updating this post and officially changed the title to silly mods! I hope yall check back from time to time and let me know what is working and what isn't.
