HELP!!!!! I have a 1995 240sx with alpine alarm system in it. and my tach/speed (the hole dam dash) AC, RADIO, signals, brake lights, tail lights, power windows will are dead.. my car starts and runs fine.... I started checking my fuses, still in the process (but so far they seem to be all good) I am going to go and have the comp check out tomorrow, but it is saturday and I am not sure if any place will be open. Has anyone else had this problem. I have had this happen to me two other times but only lasted a day and it happened all of a sudden. This time I was raising both my windows and once they got to the top the blubs inbetween the tach and spedometer flashed and went out... then i turned on my hazards and the power would dim everytime the hazards flashed.... when i turned it off and turned it back on.. poof nothing but headlights.. FUN ehhh

sounds like you have a really bad short (ground maybe) or a bunch of wires crossed where they shouldn't be. Or all the lights in the dash and center console are blown from too much power or something, hard to say, I'm not expert on any of this. However to me it sounds like you are going to have to rip your dash apart and start looking around. Anyone else know more then me?

Yes.... but that's beside the point!

I'm not sure how that particular alarm is meant to funtion.. But I would say it is faulty wiring on the alarm. It sounds like who ever installed it left a loose connection. Or the alarm itself is malfunctioning. If it was an electrical short..... you would most likely be blowing fuses. The fact that it happens, and then comes back to normal sounds like a loose wiring harness. Try to find where the alarm is located.. and make sure all connections are tight. Then we can go from there.

I figured out what the problem was... all the fuses inside were fine.. I found out the whole right side of the fuses inside were not getting power.. so I checked the fuse box in the engine and found a fuse that was 8.0amp where a 7.5amp should be. Of course the 8.0 doesn't fit right.. so it losses contact and the voltage blew a dash bulb. This fuses was done by the previous owner (what an idiot).. thanks again
