my engine whins when i start it up in the morning

it seems as if the engine stalls if it doesnt make that sound in the morning. i know because once, right when i felt the engine was about to stall i reved and idled it at 2500 rpm and then the whinning sound came on again i had let go of the gas pedal and it was idling just fine. this all happened when i started the car after it had cooled down for a significant amount of time.

What type of whine? Hi pitch, screetching? You've gotta be more descriptive. Obviously coming from the engine bay?

First thing that comes to mind is a siezed pump, because it is directly attributed with the noise(belt slipping). Next time you hear then noise, try turning your wheel side to side, see if that affects the noise.

Sounds like it could be power steering it whines if it's cold and you don't have enough in it... or the belt that's also a possibilty

All 3 of my cars whien due to power steering.Damn rack and pinion.
