Ok...so the other day...I was driving home from work and i was sitting at a stop light. I glanced down at my gauges and my oil light flicked on and off...then the engine died. It started right back up again but had a rough idle at around 500 rpm. I get home with no more problems, besides the rough idle, and I check my oil...its full...I can't seem to figure out what the problem is...any info would be really helpful...in the meantime my car is sittin in the driveway...

Seeing as though these cars have a billion messed up sensors... Maybe a sensor is out?

also...it seems like it only does this when the engine is warmed up...rough idle...sometimes it'll drop below 500 rpm...when its cold and warming up it sits at around 700-750

The reason your oil light came on is because your car idles too low. When it idles down, the oil pump isn't turning very fast, and oil pressure drops, turning on the oil light. Nearly any car will turn the oil light on if it idles low enough to die.

Idle problems, however, are not easy to fix. Noone ever seems to know the exact solution. Some things fix it on some cars, other cars have other problems.

if you want to get a sr20, i wouldnt bother spending thousands of dollars turbo'ing a motor you're going to swap out. just save for the swap.

if you are thinking of turboing that motor, i would suggest getting it rebuilt bc somthing is wrong and you dont want to turbo a motor that isnt running right bc you will just **** the motor up even more wasting the money on turboing it
