My engine revs up by itself!!!

When i start my car the engine revs up by itself out of nowhere its like it has a mind of its own...even after start up and when its just idling it revs up to 2000 or around 1500 rpm....Anyone know what could be the problem???

He probably has a wandering idle. Check the entire intake line. Clean everything.

yea it does fluctuate...it drops down below 1000 rpm and then revs up to like 2000 rpm and just drops again...it does it randomly

maybe a vaccum leak..check all your sensors?..does it do it after it warms up..mine would creep up to 1100 when it was wam..tap the gas and it'd fall down to 800

mine was doing that for the last week. i cleaned up my maf and changed my filter while i was changing my oil..started it up with the maf unplugged. plugged it in and idled down to 800rpms like it was glued there once it was warm.

it usually does it during start up and sometimes during idling...its a ka24de!!!
