i have a 93' 240sx
well this just happened as i was driving home, and it didnt stop. my engine starts sqeaking when i hit 2500rpm, it sqeaks pretty load too. it sqeaks on every gear if i go over 2500rpm. anyone have any idea on what it is?

no i dont, but i was told by a mechanic that i was going to need my chain changed in a few months because there was a light clicking sound from the engine. if it is the chain, how much is it to have the shop fix it? and is it hard to do it myself?

do a search in 240 technical on the chain. there are many posts that discuss the chain replacement. cost varies by your location and the quality of the shop you choose. You can do it yourself. many guys [and girls ,dont wanna leave them out] have done it with great success.

which rubber belts? i was doing searches and some guy had the exact same problem, and someone said it might be the fan clutch, so i'm going to check that out tomorrow

the rubber belts turning your altenator, A/C compressor,and P/s pump. with the car off grap ahold of the belts one at a time between the pulleys and try to move them up and down. if you can freely move them more then a half an inch they are too loose and you need to tighten them.
