Heres the passenger side before i got to working on it. Here is that same side after about 30 minutes of cleaning.

I used a friends steamer, and some engine degresser (sp) and some dirty rags. The drivers side still needs some work, so ill post that later.Tyler

Hmmm. Seems a bit excessive. Well done.

I've written a step by step method of cleaning your engine bay created by using nothing but your your 2 pictures.

The all encompassing method towards a showroom engine compartment1. Remove absolutely everything - nothing should remain lingering...okay, maybe some of the wiring harness, but that's it!!2. Steam clean.

Following these steps will leave you grinning from ear to ear...you have a spotless engine compartment (note-please disregard the yard full of dirty car parts).

Now, go sit in that parked car, honk that horn, turn that steering wheel a few times, and turn up that radio...you're not going anywhere anytime soon BUT no one can ridicule your level of cleanliness.

By the way...I assume you're working on your engine (i.e. the cleaning was not your primary focus) :)

How do you blow a rear rotor? Crack warp glaze yes, but BLOW????

I have had as good results, cant really get better then nearly perfect :) , using a product found at discount autoparts called CD2. Good stuff, but a steamer will make easy of getting the nooks like you observed. I got a cpl from my mother kicking around here, might give em a try next time.

There is a large concentration of 180's in Detroit. Remarkably all owned by 18-year-olds as well :rolleyes

Blown rear rotor= rear rotor lost all compression. It probably through an apex seal.Tyler

The sig makes it all so clear now, and reference to the apex seal making me look at the sig :) . Funny how close (also saw the strut cover and a few other things upon reglance) the engine bays look sans engine and at a quick glance.
