Just got back from the dyno, I made 430 rwhp, 410 rwtq at 20 psi.

The tune is pretty conservative; timing is only at 15 degrees at 4200rpm/20psi... I could definitely be pushing it farther with the methanol but I decided to just let things be for now, let myself get used to driving this car, which, let me tell you guys, will take some time: this car is freaking SCARY fast... once the boost hits I get thrown way back in the seat and the car just GOES. Its all I can do to pay attention to the revs and the road.

Heres the dyno itself and some pics:

I have a couple vids but they are extremely low quality... Ill see what I can do about putting it together in one single file.

thanks! uhm I wanted to hit 500rwhp and then back it down to around this power level for daily driving but I just didnt have the dyno time for it (lol and I chickened out, I admit it). This power level is on the edge of what I can personally handle as a driver right now anyways.

a 400rwhp/400rwtq car can be pretty scary to drive...especially when you're still rolling on 205s.

congratulations on the numbers man!

I think last time he hit the dyno hard it boosted up to a whopping 0rwhp and 0torque. Something around those numbers.

His car is not together yet, regardless of how much trash he talks!

Was this on pump gas? Also you have the same turbo as me so I think it runs out of spin around 24 psi. That's what I always heard/understood. *shrug*

Great numbers!! How hard was it to program the AEM EMS? DIY or somebody help you program it?

That thing must be a monster on the street. congrats man, You definately deserve those numbers. Now go have some fun!!!!

Aren't you closing in on maxxing that turbo out? Judging by this compressor map, you are pretty far out there for airflow at that pressure ratio.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!!

Not exactly like butter, but in the capable hands of my tuning guy things did go fairly smoothly once I got some small issues worked out. The EMS is simply amazing though. The things it can do with just a few keystrokes really blew my mind today. Imagine a scenario where not only do you have the ability to view just about every peramater occuring in your engine at any given time, but also have the ability to go in, pinpoint, and fix that specific problem. With a few keystrokes. The EMS is amazing man.
HolyShiznit wrote:Was this on pump gas? Also you have the same turbo as me so I think it runs out of spin around 24 psi. That's what I always heard/understood. *shrug*
93 octane pump gas, with the methanol starting to spray at 8 psi and ramping up to full pressure at 20 psi. I'm not really sure how far this turbo can go, but it seems to be easially making good power so far.
klattr1 wrote:what was the timing at around 5500-6500 rpms?
At 19 psi, timing is:5500- 18.56000- 18.96500- 19.6

To be fair, I rounded down with the 4500, 19 psi timing: its at exactly 15.8 degrees.
rseabrooke wrote:How hard was it to program the AEM EMS? DIY or somebody help you program it?
Read above for what I said about the EMS. As far as difficulty it is a fairly complicated system, but that sorta comes with the territory when you want a single unit to pretty much be able to control everything. I had a experienced, certified AEM tech to help me with the tuning.
nissanfanatic wrote:Aren't you closing in on maxxing that turbo out? Judging by this compressor map, you are pretty far out there for airflow at that pressure ratio.
To be honest Im not entirely sure how far this turbo can go. I have mapped the compresser out a bunch of times and I should be in pretty good efficiency for quite some time. Honestly though I'm not exactly sure where it would start becoming too inefficient... gotta kinda feel it out, and I'm saving that for down the road.

man that's very nice... i can't imagine driving that thing... the rx7 and different 240sx's with sr's and kat's i have driven hover in the low to mid 200's and they are quick.... i can't imagine 400whp in my car... but i'll see it one of these days

good luck...

question about those stock rods though...what exactly have you done with them? anything? i remember (i think it was ivan??) seeing a stock shot peened rod bent like an S after making somwhere near over 500hp...

anyhow just be careful, cause that's a damn sweet car now.

Fiz, I just watched the vid. You need to loosen the BOV a bit. Its too tight. Get rid of the chirping.

Great job and WELCOME to the 400 whp club
