This is what it has been doing lately. When I roll it all the way up, it will "bounce" and go back down about 4 inches. Sometimes when I roll it back up it will stay and sometimes it will go back down and up 2 or 3 times.

Any idea what might be causing this?

yes, mine was acting up like that on my 05 Sedan. Had to removed the door panel and follow window reset procedures in the FSM in FAQ. There was a reset button behind the panel. I assume its the same for the G37, but check the FSM.
or, if under warranty, just take to dealer.
good luck!

Ok this is what I went through. I had some warrenty work done on my G coupe. basically they reset somethings. Anyways, when i got the car back, my window did the same thing. Ok so this is what went on.

They told me to lubricate it, didn't work. Brought it to dealer. Dealer replaced window motor. Adjusted the window. Lubed all the seals, and window for a tight fitment, and assured window would go up and down no problem and I will have no escaping air. Haven't had any other problems, except, now I do get some breeze flowing in, in speeds excess of 50mph or so.

I'm still under warrantee...I'll let Infiniti fix it. I just wanted to see if it was fairly common or if my car was possessed!

Tried reseting the window by holding the switch?

Roll window down, then roll it up and hold the up button for 10 seconds then release.

My 03 Coupe had the windows worked on at least a half a dozen times. The 08 coupe didn't have any problems. I figured Infiniti had finally gotten thw windows right. Oh well.

Ok...this is what happend. I did as you said, counted to 10. I could hear a clicking coming from inside the door. That didn't help. So....I did it and held it longer. Then the window wouldn't stay up at all. So, I thought....I'm going to roll it down and hold it. I did that. Then my window wouldn't go up at all by itself, I had to hold the button. I might fool with it a little more this weekend and experiment. It was too cold last night to keep doing it.

That is something broke then and not a reset issue. Dealership definitely needs to look, regulator/motor or something is out of whack.

Okee doke...thx. What makes that clicking noise? It is actually more of a popping noise.

Regulator or something with the track I'd guess.

I'm sorry to hear you have these blasted window problems. My coupe used to do this like crazy. Here's a possibility of what the problem may be. First make sure your regulator is okay. Second, check the wire harness pins on the bottom of the window switch. Check both the wires and the pins that they plug into. My problem was the harness. So whenever the door was slammed/closed multiple times, the wires would not have full contact with the pins. So I would roll the window down and the window would not roll up. Or it would stop. If the window rolls all the way to the top and then comes back down, it needs to be trained with the reset button. Is your motor weak? It's possible that IF it's weak, the motor thinks something is caught between the window and the car, so it rolls back down. It's a safety mechanism built in so people dont get their fingers or hands or arms smashed when windows roll up. It's like that for all modern nissan/infiniti cars. I had a motor do it when it was really weak so I had to hold the roll up switch when it reached the top so that it would properly close against the weather stripping. I know this is jumble, but try and check a few of these things.

 That doesn't sound normal?

Have you ever had someone take your door apart? (tint, bodywork etc.)

What happens when you roll the window all the way in auto with the door open?

It sort of sounds like a bolt might be loose causing irregular resistance to mess with the windows anti pinch feature.

However there are tons of possibilities from your description

When you reset the window timing it is a small digital timer inside the drivers window switch unit if you hear anything else it might be an issue.

Door had never been taken apart to my knowledge. If I hold the button for 10 seconds, as suggested, it will make that popping sound about 3 times.

I will try it with the door open and see what it does.

Just take it in and let Infiniti fix it. If the window goes up then drops 4" you usually have to go through the door panel and hold the reset switch. You should not have noises so again I suggest you drop it off at Infiniti.

I will....I'll let y'all know what they say. It will probably be like my brakes and they will tell me I don't know how to push the button correctly.

The button I'm talking about is behind the door panel (and even behind the vapor barrier), not a switch you have access to easily.

Your thinking of the V35 those had the window timing reset buttons. The new ones use the switch to set the limit time. The motor still has the anti pinch feature which if it were to fail can cause problems like this. It is not common but not un heard of.
