once you get the door back open you can jsut replace the lock... not sure how expensive they are, but you might be able to take oyurs out and lube it up..... its possible your latch assy's inside thedoor are busted.. Just pull the door panel and see whats going on.
Thanks - I just got off the phone with the repair shop who is currently replacing the fried alternator and battery ($600+ with AAA discount - is that about right?). The guy who is helping me (who owns a '94 J30t as well) is telling me that he can't get the door open without doing major damage to the panel, so he's trying to find me a cheap one. But he's telling me that I'm looking at $150 for labor and another $200 approx. for a replacement door panel. Is there anyway at all I can do this myself?...or should I bite the bullet and fork over the cash?
