I am able to lock and unlock the passenger side with a key, but the driver side wont lock or unlock with the key.

How do I fix this? I removed the door panel cover. Not sure where to go from here.

Do I have to take apart more than the interior cloth door panel to see this?

Interior door panel and the plastic moisture protection film removed. Attached to the door lock cylinder. There will also be metal rods attached to it.

I took off the door panel and found this Image

What is this part called? I also am not sure how to take off the door handle as I can barely see it.

Looks like the plastic version of what itsa300zx posted a link to Z1.

But is that piece included when I purchase what's in the link? There is wire connected to the plastic piece.

The plastic piece is broken in your pic, I believe the wire screw in tho the plastic piece on the back side. Te new kit should either replace or fix the piece.

The piece in your pic is the magnetic sensor, it sits behind the actuator arm that is likey broken and fell down the door shell.

Look at this link, in post #10 shows a picture of the actual broken piece to the right(yellowish in color).

Thanks guys. I went ahead and ordered the actuator.

How do I change this out? Do I have to take off the door shell?

I installed mine as is without removing any thing. If you have troubles, the handle can be removed with only a couple nuts from the inside.

The actuator came in today, but it didn't include the white piece that is broken in the pic I put up. I did some research and it looks like this piece is apart of the security system. I guess it would make sense if my security light is flashing 24/7 when the key is no longer in the ignition. I have to figure out exactly what this piece is called so I can order it.

Is there a way to disable the security system?

Now my battery is completely drained, so I am assuming that the security light blinking nonstop is what caused the dead battery? Now that it is dead, there are no lights turning on, car wont start. Nothing.

Here is a picture of another persons door handle. The white piece with the cord coming from it. What is it? It broke on mine.

5 days later and after a very frustrating time of getting the door handle back in, it finally works. I ended up breaking the top of the hole where the metal rod sits to control the latch and tried alternatives such as rubber bands and sewing string. Nothing was working until i used duct tape as a last resort. The hardest part was sitting the metal door latch rod in correctly all while getting the door handle back in. Sooooooooo frustrating and got extremely pissed. Now that it is finally over, lets just hope that I NEVER have to change this lock again. The duct tape will hold. I put tons of it on there.

It appears that the previous owner tried to fix it because there is two bolts missing on the panel. Does anyone know what size these bolts are? It's the bolts that are colored blue and red right below the yellow seat belt bolt.

Nevermind. Found the correct screws. Didn't fix the white alarm sensor. Too much frustration and most likely would have tore apart the entire handle in anger lol. I don't know how you guys do it.
