so those pics are still open diff??? great stuff man. i remember watching you at one of the previous events tearing it up.

I need to get down to one of these and NOT bring crappy tires. Plus I'm sure a couple other KAt's have been around (both times I went I think I was the only one). Hopefully I'll see you soon (not just idiotically spinning tires at insane rpms) :D

yea i freakin hate the open diff, i cant wait to get that rear end done, the freaking wheel hop as well, when one wheel turns the other skips, cant stand it.

I can barely even come half close to drifting because of my open diff, yet my buddy with a 87 supra with lsd and an AUTO transmission can drift better than me! That kinda sucks.

LoL... i was afraid to go from the open diff to the VLSD, actually. Thought it would ruin the balance of my car (was VERY neutral...) for autocross. Ended up LOVING the VLSD. Not very fond of the KAAZ though (my friend's SR powered S14 has one... not very impressed by it). Funny since I had access to the VLSD for a while and just didn't want to put it in untill one day when I was watching reruns of my autox runs and couldn't use any power out of corners :p (yeah I'm lame and watch reruns of my friends and I dodging cones).

I've got the J30 in my car as well... driveshaft was sort of a PITA, but I tilted the diff down (spacers between diff and subframe) and it seems to work fine. Anyways (back on topic?), you've got an SR in there (right?), so you should be perfectly fine with the slightly higher gearing.

Nov 26.... interesting.... isn't that the day before thanksgiving???? Not sure if I can make it..... but supposedly I'll be passing through NJ on the 26th (on my way to CT). Maybe i'll stop by and try to do first heat.

Gotta finish those tires off before winter:

No SR :( still KA, i hope the diff will fit with my aluminum driveshaft, as far as kaaz, for autocross you would need 1 way, drag strip 1.5 and drift 2way. Since you want it to lock up on accel and decel. Well anyway I think thats the way it goes for the diffy.

ah... i think i'm thinking of Frank's car (I think).... I don't see why you'd want or need a 1.5way for drag racing, though. For autox, a 2 way or 1.5 way is fine, as long as it engages and disengages smoothly. I'm looking at the quaife for that reason.

I have an S15 helical diff on the way from japan...if i get it within this week it will be in effect at the next DOW on the 26th. Otherwise i will be rocking the open diff yet again :(But with a little ebrake or some luck i can drift kinda well. So whoever says you can't drift with an open diff is a liar!(not as well obviously, but it can be done)
