I did a bit of searching, reading and sent many, many emails to a number of dealers in Central Florida. Hoping to get the best deal on a stock 1.8 and this is what I found during my search. You should note this is not a complete list of all the dealerships I talked to just the few that stuck out in my mind.
The less responsive and least helpful dealer to talk to via email in my personal opinion was most certainly Jenkins Nissan in Orlando. I can’t even count the number of emails I sent there and their response was “how can we help” from the Internet Sales Manager? I think they need a new sales manager that can keep track of emails! I tried and tried and tried to get a price from them on a 1.6 and was told basically that it wasn’t a good business decision to sell those models! I also enquired about the 1.8 and was initially refused a quote. When I did get a response from them they said I had to pay sticker price + the three T’s “the price was firm”. Looks like they didn’t need another customer they must have been overrun with paying customers at that dealership, first one off my list.
I also was in contact with Bill Ray Nissan who was very helpful and willing to talk about price. Deland Nissan again very, very helpful willing to drive the car to me to test drive it and I live over an hour away responded right away when questions about out the door pricing. Celebrity Nissan wanted $13,865 for a 1.6 with air and ABS! I “accidentally” emailed another employee at the same dealership and they wanted $12,842 for the same vehicle! lmao! I didn’t get a response back when I asked about the difference on the same car. I also checked out
http://www.carsdirect.com and found some prices there good for those that don’t want to haggle.
I settled on Lake Nissan in part because of location, the people where very nice and I won’t say they did a great deal because I’ve no doubt I got screwed a bit more on the final price but that’s my fault for not being more careful. They are a dealership and are in business number one to make money! Overall I’m happy the old car is gone they took it as a trade and I’ve a nice new Versa.
Well I hope this helps any others out there in this area searching for a Nissan.
