The engine is in, the motor and transmission mounts are made. The aluminium oilpan has been modifyed and welded. The 300zx trans with exedy triple clutch is on.The ss flanges for the headers have been made, and the headers are in progress now.

The engine is out now for a full rebuild with ported heads, custom pistons+++

I have some pics to show you.

How do you attatch files (pics) on this forum?

Welcome, sounds like a cool build. I always put my photos on photobucket.com and then post the image links in my threads. Not sure if NICO will let you actually upload them to the site.

Hey there! Would love to see pics of this sweet build! As qsiguy said, photobucket should be the easiest option for getting your pics up. Sign up for a free account!

hi, I work at a company called Deep Ocean.Im in the subsea buisness as an ROV-pilot

...picking up oil in the north sea

Here,s a pic of the tripleplate clutch and a modified Mazworx adapterplate to fit the Vh41

Pretty clean engine to having run 82000km by grandma Chong in Japan

Here is a pic of the turbo Velded on a Jig to the engine. That way I can make the headers with the flange in the right position.

Here,s a few pics of the modified oilpan:

Oilpan with cut out bottom end. This is an Tomei oilpan baffle kit for the nissan rb26 engine.I modified and welded it to std standard VH drip tray. The kit has several "trap doors" around the oilpickup to avoid oil starvation.Had this kit on my s13 rb26, and I soon decided that this kit should go into the Vh engine. In my opinion its great alternative instead of making a new oilpan.

Mounted in the pan:

I removed the sump 5 cm back to clear the std 240z steeringrack and crossmember.

Pan leak tested. It did not hold the first time it was welded.... Bad quality cast aluminium was hard to weld in.

The advantages of doing this oilpan this way is:

Keeping the std. oil pickup positionKeeping the std. oil level pin positionA nice way to get the exhaust crossover betveen the sump and gearbox.

Inside:

I had to modify the standard transmission mounts to get the z32 gear to fit properly. The std "ears" was cut away.Welded in som reinforcements in the rear area to keep it ridgid. As you can see its Based around the same design as the newer nissans, like 240sx, 300zx z32 an so on..

Heres a pic of the bottom end with welded in ss 10mm nut.

Went to the a sheet metal guy and made this in 2,6mm steel:

Cut out:

Welded, boxed, and glassblasted:

Painted:This piece also has the same desing as the newer nissan,sIt,s bolted to the trans with a z32 Nismo transmission mount.

I must say was pleased with the end result

Here is a few pics of the motor mounts. They are made with the same design as the mazworx kit, but the outer sideis welded to the crossmember.Left side, The original crossmember mount was cut out and a new one made. The new one vas 2,5cm lover, and 4 cm further at the back.Doing it this way I could keep the standard oil filter housing, and get clearance for the steering shaft.

The right hand side "bump" was left std, I just welded the mount right on.Everything was sandblasted and painted

Here it is with the Motormounts on.I have more pics of them installed, but I have to get home on my computer to get them to you.The right hand mount (engine side) was moved two holes further to the front of the engine. I used the two holes where the Std steering pump or AC sits.(hope that makes sense)

You must be on the Volantis. lol I work for MTN, your service provider. I'm showing you are having some small issues. If you like, have the ET/ITO call the NOC and they can probably get you on a better bird or inroute. Looks like you're maxing out power, either due to weather, blockage or you're moving out of the footprint.

If you're on the Cygnus, well you're maxing out your bandwidth.

PM me if you want me to look further into it.

Awesome build too! Wish I had the time and tools like you do when I built mine. Let me know if you have any questions!

cool! What a coincidence!

I,m at Edda Fauna. Both Cygnus and Volantis are on a contract with deep ocean/trico

I belive the reason we are having problems is bad placement of the antenna on the ship, plus a small bandwith.we are working to get it faster, but it,s the money that stops it...

A small world we live in. Cool project you have aswell!

Small world indeed!

The Edda Fauna is ours as well, just under a different contract. You're running ok, you were running very smooth until about 30 minutes ago, then your RX snr's started fluctuating about 3dB. Could be caused from some sort of blockage or bad weather. It could be a tracking issue but it was tracking very very smooth until then.

Your BUC is a 16W and we normally don't see them running at max power, however yours is. Next time in port I would have the ET/ITO call and perform a 1dB and cross pol test to make sure your power limits and polarity are set properly. If it's not adjusted 100% it will affect your BW speeds, although you've been peaking over 1M down and 100k up.

I can see your location, looks like you're heading north at 1 MPH. (scary huh? )The farther north you go, the lower your elevation and the more atmosphere you have to "look" through, so the RX signal will only deteriorate the father you get from the equator, conversely the TX will require more power, which you don't have any more left to give.

You can view the footprint of 10E or W2A on http://www.lyngsat.com, if you get bored. Although I don't see that happening any time soon though with all those pretty machines onboard!!!
