Not every KA-T pops... I've had mine running for about a year and a half, the last three months at 300whp+, and I just rolled the odometer over to 140,000 miles today. Its sitting at 140,001 right now.lol

I guess I already spent all this money on my turbo gear, I'll just have to follow through.

Forget compression check.Let boost kill the engine then throw in the spare while you rebuild your orginal.

Boost doesn't kill engines... So you aren't "letting boost kill your engine". More liek letting an ongoing problem kill your engine and then allowing it to begin killing your spare, and pretty soon onto yoru built engine.

Sounds like a virus to me...

Boost does wear out the engine faster than normal...it has a wide range of how much dependin on lots of things but yes it does....cant forget that fact

turbos arent miracle workers...althought it may seem like it

If you consider it dying at say 230,000 miles instead of 250,000 miles "Putting more wear on the engine", then yes, sure...

But if you are killing engines within a 2 year period on 7psi, boost isn't killing your engine... Plenty of us have proven that the KA doesn't wear out very fast at all with boost applied...

plus the fact that i really dont want to kill an engine thats 17 years old and has 81k miles on it

to say im going overkill on this is putting it mildly

Pretty sure that piston woudl be abnormally black due to incomplete combustion. Look for hairline cracks along the edges and lateral grooves on the cylinder walls.
