YO. Check the whole clutch hydraulic system. Start at the pedal and push and see that it feels like the plunger of the master cylinder is still good, then go in the engine bay and begin at Clutch master follow it around to the slave looking for leaks or anything. Look at the slave and push the rod in and if it is working. Move the throwout fork and see that it doesn't get hung up pivoting on the trans.

Then fill the res with fluid and do it again looking for leaks. If no leaks then get a friend and bleed the clutch and if you are worried drive around with clutch fluid like some of my friends do.

Anything else will probably require removing the trans. 2wd or 4wd?

I'm going to pick the truck up Friday. I'm gonna check out the hydraulic system and see if I can fix the porblem. If I can't do anything about it or make it roadworthy I'll just start it in 2nd and drive it to a transmission shop nearby. The good thing is it's surrounded by tranny shops so it won't be hard to get to.

Had thensame problem when I installed the 5fwd. Used the wrong release fork, made a new rod from the slave to the fork got it to work then realised the fork was from a L18 box. will change the fork when installing the Z20 engine.

Mkay. I'm goin early tomorrow morning. I'll be bringing some box wrenches, some adjustable wrenches, some brake fluid and the most important tools ever...duct tape and WD40. I'll be sure to post about how it goes.

If I can't fix it I found a clutch shop that'll do a clutch replacement for $550 and a hydraulics replacement for $150. It's like 2.7 miles away so I'll be able to get there okay.

Well we couldn't fix it ourselves. The hydraulics worked fine so it needs an entries clutch replacement. We took it to a shop up there. That was a fun little adventure haha. My dad was driving it and he had to turn off the engine every time he stopped.

Well it'll be done by Tuesday so atleast I'll be done with this and Ill have a car to drive.

yep, but a lot of that labor cost you can thank snap on tools for. . .since they charge so much for the tools the mechanics get a primium for their use. lol
