When you are sick you go to a doctor. When your car is sick you bring it to a repair shop. I see a repair shop in your future. It never occured to you a repair shops would be a good idea?

someone else on here had a similar problem... i don't remember their solution and cannot find it right now.... take back to nissan and tell them to check out your clutch.... if they say there is nothing wrong ask to talk to the mechanic or a higher up person because there is something wrong.... good luck

If it's an 08 like youre SN implies then there is a recall on the slave cylinder/ TOB. Get it checked to see if it has been done.

Is your Z still under warranty?

If so, demand a new clutch.

There have been Technical Service Bullentins about transmission's, clutch & etc.

If it's under warranty...no charge!

Your dealer might be giving you the 'run around'...I just don't know.If your not satisfied....take it to another Nissan dealer.

My clutch started sticking yesterday to the point where I had to lift it back up with my foot. Took it to the dealership and they said they could not find any abnormalities with it. Then I insisted that I go on a test dive with a mechanic. It did not happen during the whole test drive..lol..but I convinced them that I was not crazy and they ordered a new slave cylinder. I'm just waiting on the part to arrive and hopefully this will fix the problem.

Warranties, even extended warranties, will not cover clutches. A clutch is considered a wear item.

And yes, you can wear one out in 6000 miles, depending on your driving habits.

For sure have them check your VIN to see if the slave cylinder recall applies to your car. If it does, they should have no objections to doing it, because Nissan pays them nicely to perform warranty work. I thought this issue only applied to 2007 models, but I could be wrong.

Just a quick update...My nissan dealership ordered and replaced the slave cylinder for free yesterday and the clutch is working perfectly again. They said it was covered in my warranty because "technically it's not the clutch, it's a component of the clutch." I was not going to argue with that!!

Correct. The clutch assembly itself (throwout bearing, pressure plate, flywheel) is a wear item, but the master and slave cylinders are not.

OP, one other thing: your Z is not a lemon, at least not yet. Lemon laws vary from state to state, but usually the deal is that your car has to be into the dealer for the exact same problem at least three times without a fix being effected. I would encourage you to document everything carefully, including who said what and when. I would also encourage you to be as nice as possible with your service writer, as his or her help will be needed to get a lemon law claim pushed through if it comes to that. Also, they might be able to help you if you have to take this to NNA, which would be the next level, before a lemon law filing.

I hope u got ur vehicle fix by now.. I got my 370z the end of february and it has just a little bit over 6,000 miles and my clutch got really stuck, my car had to be towed and they replaced the transmission just today, my car does not drive the same, the clutch does not feel the same. I honestly don't know what to say, now my windows don't go up. Not a very good day for me.
