I am new to this forum thing so any and all help is useful. I have new pump and filter, but my fuel level is still not up to the dot on the glass.

Is this when it is running or just when it sits turned off? I don't think mine ever met the dot in the glass but it always ran great. Are you having any issues making it run?

If it sits a while it will drain back out into tank, but while it is running it is only halfway to the dot. It runs fine has almost 300,000 on it. I have big plans for it though. I have a completely rebuild motor from top to bottom that I want to:
1. Weber carb
2. Header
3. vac line delete or as much as I can delete.
4. egr delete
5. o2 delete
6. a/c delete

basically I wanna make it a sporty little truck. I would like to get about 150hp out of motor but not to sure how to do it. I am mainly a Ford and Chevy guy, but bought this truck for $800 and LOVE it. Thanks for reply Pezi.

I can tell you as someone who raced this truck for the past few years... 150 is a big order. With a full race tune on mine with full exhaust and everything, 120 at the motor was about the best I could get. That's not wheel horsepower, of course. I could have gotten more with a good cam, and modified head and possibly fuel injection... but these engines just aren't the most powerful.

Oh yeah I loose alot of power going up hills this is why I think it is a fuel problem. Do you have any other tips on getting my other motor ready? When it was rebuilt it was built stock. Also I only have $50 in it and it has everything but a carb and flywheel. Any tips on vaccum lines I can delete? I just want the basics for running this truck like the old fords and chevys, but I'm not sure on how these. Also you have an AWESOME truck I checked out the pis on fb.

Mine always had trouble with hills until I did the weber carb. As far as vac lines, you'll find almost none of them need to be there with the weber as well. My truck ran the distributor vac advance and brake booster and that is literally it. There are also pics of the truck floating around this forum somewhere.

My favorites probably include the super simple engine bay..

Or anything where it is actually in action... this one thanks to Dave Phillip

Thanks for tips I will try and post picrures of my project truck (G-unit) asap. I am finding these trucks everywhere lately, but due to scrap prices being so high here in TN. It is a little hard to talk people into sellin me the truck cheaper than what they could get for scrap. I have my list now and checkin it twice...lol. Keep the pics coming also.

Thanks
Derrick
