ok... heres my story...

a month back i drained my battery by playing loud music with out the car actually being on. today, i went to my local autozone and bought me a brand new battery, i installed it and the car turned on. I left it on for about 10 minutes then shut it off.

OK heres where it gets good...15 minutes after that I went to turn the car on again but it wont budge... the headlights work... in interior lights also but the car wont turnover... there is no clicking when i turn the key. So what could be the problem? my alternator? or did this new battery suddenly lose power?

your help is appreciated.

Has it ever done this before? Or like not start, and then it turns over and started?

its funny how the simplest things mess you up... I checked the leads, and readjusted them... then the car started fine.

thanks for all your help again guyz.

i dunno about your car but i have a 91 240sx hatchback and there is a kill switch underneath the steering wheel. well every once in a while my car will just not turn on, like the key will not turn all the way.. it will just go to the first 3 notches and it acts like the clutch isnt even in..well i found out if i just flip the kill switch to my car a couple times back and forth and then try to start the car, it works. maybe you should check that out..just tryin to help man good luck

That's odd. There is a switch that should prevent the starter from cranking while the clutch is engaged (i.e. not depressed).

If you can crank the car while the clutch is out, something's up with that switch. Be careful not to leave it in gear and forget. I nearly went through the garage door with my old Z30 back in high school when I cranked it in gear by accident.

yeah... that has happened sometimes... goodthing i always put my e-brake so the car just kinda leans forward realquick but actually doesnt even move.

i rarely leave it in gear... it always happens after i let someone borrow it.

I hate that ****... Like someone will move it and leave it in gear, then I'll start it and stall out. Pisses me off.
