are your dash lights and everything coming on? Does the starter make any noise? A click or anything?

ok im betting its the starter, solenoid, or the relay.. its one of those.. its NOT the battery, its NOT the connections... could it be anything else?

if your dash lights all work fine and are not dimmer than usual and your headlights work fine then the problem is not your battery or alternator. The click symbolizes a bad starter.

so if theres only one click, its a bad starter. can a starter go bad with only 38,000 miles on the motor...

I hate to jump in all over someone elses topic for my fisrt post but my issue is very similar. 91 Hardbody took to school, everything was fine, went to lunch, fine, tried to start it and nothing but a single click. If I'm not mistaken the click is coming from ignition relay in the fuse panel. I left the truck got a ride home, in the morning it started like no problem. I take the starter to the parts store they test it, it fails, I install a new starter. the car starts fine, I go to school, car wont start back up.The battery seems to be fine, all electronics working. My question is could I have gotten a faulty starter, I've got a lifetime warranty, or is there a starter relay somewhere?

I just had the same problem a month ago, do one quick

1. Turn the key to the on position2. Take a wire from the positve terminal (battery) and tap the wire onto the spade on the starter solenoid

This should start the car if it's the starter then it won't start, otherwise it could be that the relay is not grounding when you push the clutch's button in.If you don't know what spade I'm talking about then I'll post a picture of the location and the actual solenoid ans spade if you need it.

do you have a big fat black wire connected from the body to the engine? this is were the electricty from the sensors and starter complete there circuit to the battery- it is called a common ground. ALSO make you step your clutch ALL THE WAY to the floor mash it into the carpet

rwd sr's can only use rwd sr starters..unfortunately they are not compatible with anything else.

I had the same problem went to wawa ran great, got in the car to drive home and it wouldn't start. If you get a click its the starter, but if no click check the button on the clutch pedal for the clutch switch. also the relay on the passenger side fender in the engine bay, two plug blue relay. changed that and hd no problems...good luck.

GET DRIFTY!!
