My Car Won't Idle!!

I was driving my 2001 Nisssan Maxima GLE Automatic and I pulled into a parking lot. As I slowed down for a speed bump my car just completely shut off. I tryed to start it up again and the engine cranked over but wouldn't start. I tryed again but this time gave it a little gas and it started up fine, but as I let off the gas the car just died again. My car basically won't idle by itself like its suppose to. I ended up driving it back to my house with one foot on the gas and one on the brake when I came to a stop light. I didn't have any lights come on the dash. I'm actually kind of stumped about the whole thing. If anyone has any ideas to what might be causing this problem please let me know. Thanks a lot.

Try the throttle positioning senor. I think that it is what is on the Idle Air Control Valve. The other thing that I think it might be is a minor vacuum leak. That is all that I can really think of right off the top of my head.

yeah u might want to look into the idle control valve even tho its kidna espensive.....
