my car sucks need HELP to make it perfect

when i start up my car the rpm stays really high sometime around 2k or 3k but sometime stays above 1k and when i put it in drive the rpm drop all the way near zero and when i take turn and accelerate i rumbles

throttle position sensor? i would start there

ok now the other day i was stepping on the gas on a turn my car jerk up and down then the engine light turn on
