This is becoming an issue and I'm not sure what it is. My car recently has been really slow to turn over like when the battery is dead. Sometimes it starts, barely. Annnd sometimes it doesn't and I have to jump it. Any ideas?

dead cell in the battery, wont let it hold a full charge. Pull your battery, have it charged and tested, clean your terminals and put it back in.

if you use water instead of antifreeze the water turns into ice and therefore seizes the water pump and can cause hard/impossible starting. happened to me this winter, hope nothings broke

That's the funniest thing I've read all year. Nothing but plain stupidity there.

OP, keep in mind when its cold, the battery's internal resistance is high. If it's an old battery that is starting to fail, now is the time it shows itself. Check the battery with a hydrometer if you can to find a dead cell. If not have it electronically tested. Either way you'll know whether or not to replace the battery, or if you just simply need to clean up all of your connections.

just go to any autozone or major autoparts store and have your battery and alternator tested.

Other problems may be dying ignition switch, but that is usually associated with other electronic failures. Also starters, because when their brushes wear down there might be gaps between electrical contacts, thus lack of starting or slow starting. For battery, a simple multimeter will do the trick. Alternator, you should be able to run directly off the alternator if it is good.

Brought it to advance and my battery pooped out on me. It was only putting out about 300 amps so the manager replaced it and all is good.
