Do you have the stock mechanical fan? Is the fan shroud still in place?

ac systems always cause the engine to run warmer in part because the a/c compressor is driven off the crank so the engine has to work harder when the compressor is active (also why you lose a little power)... you might consider flushing the coolant system and like the other guy said- a fan shroud would help and so would an electric fan.

Engine temerature should not rise under normal conditions due to the a/c, and the extra heat is not due to compressor load but rather the heat coming off of the condensor.

hmm, what ben is hunting for is if the mech fan /shroud are still in place; check for the fan clutch... oozing fluid from the center of it= new fan clutch time!

mech fan is not producing enough air flow mebbe d/t a failing fan clutch or missing shroud or mebbe obstruction between the condensor & radiator (leaves can get stuck in between them)...

also, the OEM electrical a/c condensor fan shoulda kicked in once a certain temp is reached by the lower hose sensor... ~208 degrees F

of course, this is assuming that your cooling system is healthy to begin with...

venture over the free FSM download for more info!
