She can't be mad at me...I cleaned the ever loving hell out of her today. I was at a buddy's house, turned off the car, left the keys in the ignition (which I don't typically do).

I walk about 5 feet away and light a cigarette, and about 3 seconds later i hear the locks click.

Had to wait two hours for my girlfriend with my spare key whilst being screamed at by my friends for being too anal...they suggested I called AAA, and I told them anyone that walks near my car with a slim jim will not walk away.

Some people just don't understand. The same kind of people that don't understand why you would scrub your engine compartment.

And yes Dennis , I keep my card key in my wallet at all times. My wallet was in the center console!

Hope that cigarette was a Marlboro and I bet you keep your wallet in your pocket from now on. What I find interesting is the keys were in the igniton.

The doors should not lock while the key is in the igniton.

marlboro.

yeah, I don't know either. I hate my keeping my wallet on my person in the car because it hurts my *** on long trips (george syndrome from seinfeld). Center console is the spot...but you'd believe I take it out every time I get out, or open the window 5 inches!

Yea, when I use to have my Porsche 944 Turbo, it had a nasty habbit of doing that with the locks. Made me paraniod of that happening. My G50 has never done that but I still make sure I dont leave the keys in. As far as the wallet thing, I use to have a Cavalier that I would wedge between the seat and the center console when I wore sweats. One day I forgot to get it and I thought I lost my wallet. Replaced my papers and credit cards. A few years later, I was cleaning the car out and It fell between the seat and the console. What an idiot I am.

Ive seen Qs do this, its especially common with the 94 Qs (95s had the updated lock actuators)..

See if it does it anymore, i think theres a TSB on it... There was at least for the 94s..... it really pisses me off when it does that, my Q has locked me out 2-3 times with the keys in it.. Fortunately everytime its done it, its been in my driveway and i just had to get the key from inside..

A friend of mine puts a key in the gas cap area that will unlock the doors and turn the car on, but it wont start it... I may look into doing that.....

^ Yeah Wes I second what he said. I'm not too sure about the G50 but I know on the Y33 the gas cap has to be opened from the inside

They do on both models if functoning correctly.

I think when this happens, it is time to replace a control unit. Why I don't allow drinks in open containers in my console.

Old bump, FYI to anyone curious as Wes asked below...

2+ years and it has never done it again. Many many many miles driven since.

I lock my car with my keys at all times.I roll my window down even if it's raining enough that may hand fits when I close my door.

My 95 does this routinely. I think that I have isolated it to the drivers door actuator but I am not sure. Basically I just keep an extra key in my pocket rather than to start chasing this gremlin.
