My car let me down for the first time
I went to the gym, came out, car wouldn't start. Called my brother in law and tried jumping it, nothing. Then thought, hmm, it's probably the starter. Luckily I was parked at the top of a small hill so we got it turned around and pushed that bitc* down the hill. Pop the clutch and she takes off. Luckily it was a standard so I could pop start it, otherwise I would have been screw*ed. Time to go to the parts store for a n ew starter.

It might be something as simple as a loose / bad connection on your battery terminals. I had a problem where I would turn the key, and the car would click away but not start. Ten minutes later after cleaning the battery terminals and securing the clamps, it started up like a champ.

Lots of extensions, bloody knuckles, and cursing. It's a pain, but not TOOOOOO bad. Just get under there with a socket, some extensions, and go at it.
