There is this sense of farting during idle as you decelerate from 2k rpm. You can feel the engine burp as you do this. It is also less noticeable during 1k rmp but happens every few seconds. It really doesn't show itself while driving, but I want to stop a problem for the long run.

we did a diagnose and it gave me a faulty injector #2. I replaced the whole fuel rail (what a pain). After changing the fuel rail and injectors, the car ran smoother during idle, but the farting was still there. the diagnose also gave us a MAF code, however, we replaced it w/my brother's working one, and the fartin is still there.

i'm running out of ideas, any comments suggestions, etc. will be deeply appreciated.

your timing could be advanced too far...check it.

i had the same problem as well, and i thought it was a timing issue. later i noticed that my exhaust was rattling a little too much. when i checked it out, one of the bolts from the cat to the tail end of the system had backed out and was missing. pressure would build and shoot from the gap in the connection. check to see if that's the problem and tighten/replace the bolts

Yep.......I just had some "fart" exhaust myself and found that the cat gaskets on both sides were just thin sheets of rust with holes in them. Replaced those bad boys and now it's flatulance free.

Lots of people get this on the KA. Its normal. I know that it does so on mine at around 1800rpm and im not running rich nor advanced timing of any sorts. I wouldnt worry about it too much.

It is possible for unburnt fuel to burn in the exhaust system even if your running a perfect A:F.
