Might read the Q45tech post about stall rates vs. ATF heat loads.

ATF heat loads tend to me less with billet TCs because they are MUCH more efficient than the kind of rebuilt TC that I have...

If you have a good transmission cooler and fresh ATF it shoudlnt matter!

Do the transmission experts have any reco based on the style of driving you do/want to do?

Sounds like you're making good progress, glad to hear that.

I know mine is 3000 not because of whatthey told me, but because of what it stalls out at, I tested it myself.

All I can say is that my transmission has roughly 50,000 miles on it and its still going fairly strong.

Wow, I missed that one... That would have to be the TC right? HMMM..

jamesmost I was looking for a place to make me some custom headers for like a year or so and stopped looking. 2200 for stainless isn't that bad if you really think about it. I wonder if they can custom a set for a 1st gen without having the car by just having the FSM or something? It'll probably be about 8 months before I can even think about that however.

Don't get me wrong, the built TC for that price is great, but a good working transmission for that money is insane .
