Its been a long time comming, but my RB25 just started a few minutes ago. We cut a lot of corners just to see if it would crank so I gotta go back and do a lot of things. VSS isnt wired, O2 isnt wired (I made the mistake of cutting it behind the plug not knowing two wires are the same color...guess I gotta guess what goes where), clutch not bled, no air filter (Picked up a K&N at Autozone and it wouldnt fit, dunno what to get), boost cut solenoid still hangin, and my fans arent wired yet. I just got my Koyo in this afternoon so I need to switch it out with the KA radiator thats in there. I dont have my dash or gauges in so I dunno what its idling at, it go too dark and we thought we get it worked on tomorrow. Problems so far is it doesnt sound all that good, but its probably idling low and I have no exhaust other than a 3" downpipe so thats expected. Theres a clicking sound going on too that Im not sure what it is. Thinking it may be the pulleys hitting the fans or the A/C compressor trying to switch on since its still on the motor but we removed everything else. Im VERY happy though, cant wait to drive it. Im gunna head to a junkyard tomorrow and see if I can get some stock suspenion as a temporary fix for the crappy cut springs I got rubbing on the tires. just get a filter for a z32 its the same, i got my blitz lm filter for a z32 and it bolted up perfectly.

was your car an auto before? if so, how did you get the car to start, electrically? thanks

Filter I got would fit, but it didnt come with anything. No screws or anything. Hell it didnt even have screw holes in it. Ill see if they got something else when I return that one.

I bought the car manual, so I cant help you out there.

wow I just got mine running last week and everything is hooked up except for fans. You got a ways to go before you drive it lol. Don't half *** anything. Goto my lower harness prepping to wire in your VSS. good luck glad to hear its running... Get pics and check mine out up top *updated pics II*-Alex

Im still having a hard time with the intake. I removed the box so I got just the MAF I want to put a cone on. The MAF is flat, so I need an adapter in between to attach a cone. The only adapter SECO has is much to large for it and they have nothing else.

I found an adapter on ebay for cheap came with a 4 inch cone too. even if you dont want the cone the adapter is good.

I just wired up my VSS so that should be all the wiring one other than the O2. However, my speedo and tach are reading nothing. Well, I cant tell if the speedo works or not because I havent driven it, but the tachometer says at 0 RPMs no matter what... This cluster has both LS Auto gauges in it so its not a problem of them reading incorrectly... they just arent reading. What wires do I need to check?

EDIT: Checking the transmission, Ive got a hose comming off the top that goes into a metal hose that has like a hook end and a mounting bracket on it hanging. What does this go to? I also got a plug in the very back (orange in the plug) that will fit into what looks like its other end but wont stay in it. I can take pics if needed.

pics would help. for the aircleaner I was told that the adapter for the subaru wrx works and you can find those easily.

that hose on the transmission is breather and you don't connect it to anything.

for the speedo check the sensor on the transmission. Should be two green wires if I remember correctly. (It is part of your lower harness from the KA)

Speedo is probably fine, the the tach that isnt responding.

That hose is a vent tube. It vents turbulant air inside the trans. You need to change the wire for your tach I believe. It comes off the white int. harness plugs and should goto the tach wire on your smaller plug behind the box.

Gauges still arent working, so I went and looked at my lower harness and took pictures of 4 things I saw that were not connected. Help me out with this:

These 2 pluges are on the very back on the transmission. The one with black casing doesnt quite snap fit in to the other side of the plug. I dont know if its making connection or not, but it looks like it. Just thought Id throw that out.

This comes off the wire that ends with the 2 plugs I showed first. Its wires look like green and green with a white stripe.

This isnt connected either. Not sure where it comes from, but on my harness its next to the big wire that goes on the starter. Its wires are black and red with a black stripe (not sure if this is helping any lol)

Not really a plug, but this is comming off the block of the RB. Guess its a ground or something, where should it be?

i should have some soon as i get my downpipe back from mckinney, ive had lots of parts issues ever since i got it running, its running great but i am just waiting on things to finish it up... i will have videos as soon as its driving good.
