so my car was overheating and leaking a little before and i was told my thermostat is bad. so i bought a new waterpump and a thermostat both brand new oem. and i replaced both of them and now when i add a little gas my belts or something is squeeking and my car is overheating aloot after like 3 minutes of driving.
i have a 300zx twin turbo 1990

Test your thermostat and see if it is opening. That means remove it from the car, and dip it in boiling water, and it should open. It could be defective.

If itis in fact opening, then u should reinstall it and bleed the system. You may have air pockets in the coolant system.

Did you just replace the water pump? Or did you do the timing service while you were in there?

For the squeek, I would think that either your belt is not tight enough, which you can check in the fsm nicoclub.com/FSM/300zx/.

For the overheating, it could be the belt not tight as above, a bad fan clutch, or as I experienced, the OEM Crank Pulley is a 2 piece. The rubber between the two parts works as a dampener and wears down over time. This allows the outside of the pulley (the part that the belts touch) to not spin as fast as the inside (the part that touches the crank) thus spinning your water pump slower and overheating. The way to test it is to remove all of the belt and see if you can spin it by hand.
