it's seems to smoke when it wants too...but mostly i notice that in the morning after a cold start it's fine..no smoke at all..after a nice drive it'll smoke in idle..i did a compression test and i got 160-170 on all 4 cylinders and the plugs look normal no signs of oil or anything like that..what could be causing this..i got the oil restrictor that Structure told me to get and that fixed the previous smoking problem. Now it's back and it's constant after a nice drive.. The smoke look black/blue (blow-by?)

Or is it the ring lands, even though the compression came back good?

I'm thinking about having the spare KA rebuilt, it's an auto KA but i fugure i can swap everything over from the KA i have now on the new one and it'd be okay correct?

also Andy from sound performance offered to rebuild my motor anyone know him.?

back on topic too...anyone know what might be causing the smoke..turbo does make a noise when it's in spool..a weird noise that i posted in another thread..

Humm....interesting..i'm gonna guess that replacing the turbo will hopefully solve this issue...time to start researching t28 efficiency..

Geo are you asking why? if so then...I thought it's supposed to be retarded to at least at 15-16 degrees compare to stock timing of 20. Isn't that correct? For the DOHC anyways

If the comp test checks out and the turbo checks out, look into the valve guides, my na KA did that, ran smokeless until the oil heated up and thined a little, the gap in the guides was just starting to wear, I drove it till it stoped, the engine that is, not the smoke.
