when i drive i have to put my car into neutral at stops because if i dont it begins to rock and it is only at very low RPMs (500 or so), i hit a tree when it started...it smashed the left front side in a bit no major damage, missed the radiator by a few inches, i did disconnect and air hose that goes to my air box though and it isnt inline with the other part of the hose so i cant reconnect it. would that be the reason for the car learching or if not does ne1 kno y it mite b?

disconnected an air hose by air box? does the maf have air going through it with this setup? what kind of car? does it feel like a misfire or just running rough?

going to neutral is ok. the maf is the sensor on the airbox. if you arnt familiar with it then it would be best to leave it alone. i can just reccomend that you do some basic inspections. the basic inspections are layed out in the sticky above on drivability issues.

my 240 used to do this at times, I found it to be a vacuum leak.
