So I have noticed lately some little things about my car that just doesnt seem right. Whenever I start my car I let it warm up for at least 5 mins, but today I noticed when i went to reverse out of my driveway my car seemed to be growling, and not in a good way. My cars idle is a little rough, my exhaust is crap, and Im pretty sure my MAF needs to be replaced... But the growling just doesnt seem like a very good thing, any ideas?

Also my drivers side windshield wiper isnt working. When I turn them on, the wiper just stays in the same place, I went to tighten the bolt on it, and the bolt wouldnt budge, but the wiper seems to be wiggling around..

Thanks for any help

The growling sound could be an exhaust leak somewhere... what does your exhaust setup look like? do you still have cats?

And the windshield wiper issue could be a shot wiper motor or one of the connectors/arms going to the wiper is broken. Take off the plastic cowl pieces at the base of the windshield and see whats up

My car has full stock exhaust, but like I said they are pretty beat. Looks like there are burn or drill holes in the end of them, no rust though. They definitely need to be replaced, and Im looking into doing that ASAP

To remove the 'cowl' along the bottom of the windshield do I need to take off the windshield wipers? Because the one that isnt working will not budge in either direction. Compared to the working blade, the non working blade appears to be really loose.

Shouldn't have to remove the wipers. There should be a few clips in the engine bay just below the plastic cowl part and a few visible clips or screws on top. Once the clips are removed it should come out fairly easily, just don't pry on it or the plastic will snap or crack. Not sure why one wiper would be loose unless one of the connecting rods is loose or broken. Probably why it isn't moving

I got the windshield wiper working, I think it was off the threads. Thats why it wouldnt budge, all I had to do was take the wiper off, wipe away the metal shavings, and re install it!
