Post

For those of you who followed my last post my car has now been fixed. I got it back on wednesday morning after being in the shop for about 2 weeksBut I had my headlights and taillights cleaned up (smudges and dust) the dent removed and painted and the fascia painted

So Adidas, i am no longer rocking an unpainted fascia(and put on some new turn signals), yes i know about the sag that will be fixed either this afternoon or tomorow morning. and the batman thing is a joke between some friends sorry about the grain i was in a hurry

And a short little video

Ya well when i first installed it i was having problems with the stock support brace and wound up leaving it out.

im hoping that will level it out because its still on my stock fascia.

The directions from stillen say to switch it over but i couldnt for some reason but when i have more time i am going to figure it out and hopefully solve the situation. ive just been bombarded with school lately

I cut the stock wires for the turn signals and crimped the wires that came with the LEDs and the stock wires to the other end of the stock wires.

im sure there is an easier and safer way to do this but i couldnt find the fuse for the turn signals so we just winged it

The bat emblem is a joke right? That's really not on your car....

Your car will look ok when put in the support brace.

Does anyone know how to run LEDs as running and turning signals?

You have a huge gap between your hood and bumper.

Anyway the car looks good, black is sexay.

I'm not sold on those LED's up front though. They look too visible, and a bit crooked.

**EDIT**

Bolt up these things with small bolts/nuts. They are sagging as well.

dig the black coupe w the fascia ... not digging the batman emblem... but to each his own... as long as you dig it thats all that matters...

I think I'd like the LED's if they wernt so noticable...

no its just a joke like i said, it is only ziptied on, its coming off when i put my support brace on

ya the two bolts that go there werent long enough the plastic wouldnt bend enough for those to go on so i got some new ones and that other sag will be fixed when i put the support brace on.

thanks for the feedback i know that the leds are visible but i like them

At any rate, those 2 piece don't bolt to the fascia, they are held on by double sided tape

I like the car overall, but the bat logo has to go. and the turn signal LEDs need to be stealthy. Do what i did, Vinyl overlays on the strip

on the left, no overlays. on the right, overlays are on.

Drill 4-5 holes and use 4-5 zip ties. Cheaper and easier. You also don't have to worry about hitting the core bumper support w/ zip ties like you might w/ bolts.

A few things really annoying me about the stillen bumper (although I'm still happy with the product).

1) Instructions making the prep sound simple. Its not as easy as scuff, prime, and paint. At least on mine there where holes to be filled and minor cracks to go over before the final paint.2) Screws they give for the front are too short (or whoever is drilling the holes at stillen is drilling them in a different spot than the bumper that they picked the screw size off of to send out)3) Why use sticky tape to hold the middle/bottom sections together? I seriously can't imagine this working for an extended period of time unless both pieces of plastic where heated so they were flexible then put together with the tape (and then would stay together when the cool). Otherwise you get the separated and floppy middle bumper issue. Zip ties took 5 mins and will hold a long time and I don't have to worry about a good contact with the tape. And if zip ties get old and brittle and break it takes 2 seconds to replace w/ out removing the bumper.4) The side things bulge out (usually only on one side). Easy 5 minute fix with zip ties.

NOTE: Yes, I'm obsessed w/ zip ties. Zip ties are my duck tape.

Overall if you get the bumper be aware of these things going into it and you will be incredibly happy! This is the 1st aftermarket bumper that is nice enough and fits snug enough after install to pass off as factory quality.

Ya i will probably go with the zip tie idea. There were two screws that were too short sorry for the mistake i thought i remembered them being right there.

I put the support brace on so the sag it pretty much unnoticeable now.

Im not putting vinyl on my turn signals, i absolutely love the way they came out, nice contrast with the headlights

and batman logo is now gone.

new pics coming soon (need another wash)
