My car idles MUCH higher as it gets cold outside, this can't be normal?

Quick question, I always forget about this until fall rolls around. I don't exactly remember where my idle is when its warm outside, but it goes up about 400rpm and hangs there when it starts getting cold out (IE 40 degrees or so ambient).

When I first start it, the idle is normal. If I sit and wait (I was getting out a CD for example), the idle ramps up very quickly and stays there. It sounds like its a bit lean too, a tad on the rough side. I can check that with the power FC though.

Anyone else experience this? I am running power FC, but the same shiz happened on stock ECU if memory serves.

Thanks guys - Evan

Check out what your idle settings are set at on the PFC. There are settings that richen the fuel mixture for a given engine temperature. If yours is cold enough, that might be what is happening.

make sure you adjust it when the engine is warm at operating temperature;
