My automatic 240 cuts off on me. while i am sitting still for a few minutes it will cut off, the rpm drop and then it dies, but while the car is in park it idles at 900. While im driving it and i stomp on the gas it stales or spits and doesnt pick up good. its bone stock. I check tha fuel filter, spark plugs and wire, could it be my fuel pump or something? and it idles low like at 500 revolutions while its in drive. HELP!!! i cant figure it out.

You haven't really explained the problem well.

When you turn on the car, and it runs... The RPMs are at 500?

The car runs and cuts off during what? Is it a 5 speed or automatic?

If its a 5 speed, the car is running, then you push in the clutch to slow down and downshift, and it cuts off?

Explain better whats going on.

OK so I am confused... The car cuts off, the rpms drop and then it dies again. I dont get it.

From what I am reading, it could be the flux capacitor, or the space time continuem.

O yea and....

SEARCH PEOPLE, THERE HAS TO BE THREAD ABOUT S14 DRIVABILITY ISSUES.

raise the idle? that would make it work while you find the actual problem.

Do you have any ECU codes? if not try doing a simple tune-ups, sparksplugs, air filter, wires, etc.

If it still happens it could be that your IVAC is clogged.
