It has now power, it seems, my friend paced me in his 97 civic ec coupe auto up to 80. He has a filter, and a muffler. My brother killed me in my 93 integra, by a couple of cars from a roll, and my integra is stock LS, and my car cant even chirp second gear, even when its raining. i spoke to some Japanese guy, who has 3 s13' s and he said that my timing chain guides were gone, and that why my car lacked so much power. I changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter, removed the air filter, pvc valve, oil change, removed the AIV thingy, and dumped 10 fuel injector cleaners in my car, to get it to idle right. i also got my fuel system cleaned. It runs alot better than before. I dont really know if the clattering timing chain makes a performance diffrence or not, but losing to a auto civic with pepboys bolt-ons sucks. 2 questions though, do ka24e's usually chirp second gear, and how much would it cost on average to replace the timimg chain guides, or the timing chain. I was quoted 920 for the timing chain, already, but what about the guides, can I do them myself, in a couple of hours, or do I have to pull the whole front part of the engine off. Chiltons is no help with timimg chain guides.

Thanx.

Can a ka24e chirp 2nd? Oh my friend...When I had the Ka in my 240...I made the most beautiful chirps...Seriously, 2nd gear chirp was like 2 seconds long and my rear would fishtail a little.

Oh, and not to mention the ka is a VERY tourqey engine...Its a 2.4 truck engine for crying out loud, its going to have low end power and chirp those tires that have been very very naughty...

chains generally don't go bad, but the guides can get worn down. general rule of thumb is 100k i think
