Hi everyone first time here haven't been able to get help with my problem figured I'd see if anyone here has experienced this or has any advice for me. I have a 2010 Altima coupe I purchased new in January 2011 (it was a leftover) Not even 2500 miles into my cars life it began to accelerate on its own it only does this when coming to a stop or slowing down I'll be at a complete stop one foot on brake other on clutch the rpms rise. I do not have double floor mats and my floor mats aren't in the way if I tap the gas it brings the rpms back down. I've brought the car to the dealership several times for this problem they've never heard of it can't seem to fix it or even begin to know what's wrong. I feel like they don't believe me the service manager asked me to take a video of it and when I got fed up after the 4th time bringing it in I told then I wanted to trade it in asked what they'd give me for a trade in sales manager told me he wasn't gonna take a car back with ghost problems....real nice. I have since switched to another local Nissan dealer who still cannot figure this out...they told me they're not going to start throwing parts at it obvi bc it's under warranty still so costs them not me. I tried writing to Nissan sent copies of all my service records I do not know what to do and now the SES light comes on all the time and the dealer always says the computer needed to be updated! If anyone has any advice plead help me out I've never had a new car before this has been very dissapointing and frustrating I want to stop paying for it and drop if off on their roof

You are still under warranty. MAKE THEM fix it.

Ive heard of engine braking with the CVT but you are in a MT so not sure what to tell you other than the above.

Have someone ride in the back seat with a video camera. The video needs to show the location of your feet, as well as the gauge cluster.

Go for a drive until you get GOOD video of the problem happening.

Once you have that, email me, and I'll load it on our YouTube page. If it's legit, I guarantee it will cause a huge stink, and you'll get the attention you need.

Don't halfa$$ it, though. If you want it fixed, make a case. Trading it in only makes the dealership more money, so why would you do that if you;re unhappy with them?

They won't even take it as a trade sales manager told me they're not gonna take a car in with ghost problems...I was able to get 1 video not the best tho bc it's kinda hard when I have to drive...it only does it while slowing down or coming to a stop but you're right I have to get my feet too to prove that it's not me or the floor mats...Nissan is stumped on this I've written to the corporate office called no response at all a Nissan salesman actually told me to go the lemon law route but that's a hassle on my end lawyers, court, money.,.i like the YouTube idea tho s*** maybe then they'd take me seriously!!

^He is 100% serious. Grab a friend, grab a camera, start driving. Keep it professional, dont curse on the audio, dictate exactly what you are doing while it is being filmed. GL.

Any news on this? When it floors itself, if you give it a shot of gas does it correct itself?

Yes when I tap the gas it brings it right back down...it seems like it only does it when it's cold it's very sporadic and only when coming to a stop or slowing down
