every single time i get into neutral the rpm gauge goes down to 100 rpm and then comes back to a normal idle. But some times when i am down shifting or going into neutral my car will almost die and all the lights come on, but some times it will just die on me.

can some one help me figure out what is going on? and is it going to be expensive?
thanks very much

Idle Air Control Valve, search it, it's a very common problem and seems to effect dang near every one of these cars as they age, usually cleaning and lubing them does the trick

not trying to be a prick it's just that if she is posting here and he is replacing parts with no sucess then neither fo them truely knows whats going on, if he knew what he was doing she wouldn't be posting here and since she's the one posting and he's doing the work there are too many ways for things to get crossed up and confused
