So i was on my way to the Bank of America last night and after getting the money and all i pulled onto the street. My clutch got stuck into the floor and wouldn't come back up so i couldn't get my car out of gear. My car stalled and died then i got the clutch back up and could not start the car again.. my hazards wouldn't even work.. we pushed the car into a small parking lot near the bank and looked under the hood. Just earlier yesterday i installed my fujita intake so i dont know if that could affect the clutch and brakes but i doubt it.. Someone stopped to help me and said that my clutch and brake fluid was low so they ran over to wal mart and bought some and came back. He filled it up and we tried pumping the clutch and starting the car but it was like i was getting no power.. I checked underneath the car and there was fluid leaking which i think was the brake/clutch fluid. I don't know my cars that well so i can't be sure. I couldn't even start the car, it had the "key" symbol blinking up everytime i tried to start the car but the key was in my pocket in the car. I also tried to put it into the ignition near the trunk release but that didn't work eiter. To get my car started we also tried jumping it but that didnt work either. I had to get my car towed and i will be getting it towed to Ancira Nissan after i put my stock airbox back and take out the fujita. Oh yeah the fujita sounds niceeee! but i think somehow... fujita welded the mount on wrong.. But yeah, does anyone have any ideas on what happened to my car? Could the fact that my clutch and brakes aren't working effect me not having any power except for dash lights and cabin lights? My HIDs wont even turn on.. Thanks guys

I am sorry to hear that you had car trouble. Especially on a new car. I would freak out on nissan and demand a rental car and more.

Oh and i have no idea what is wrong with your car.

Hope my arse. I just hope they dont give you a crappy rental car. Be like i want a gtr rental car. There is no excuse for that to happen to a brand new car.

I have 11000 miles no major issues so far.

Sorry to hear about your problem. It sounds very weird. I remember a problem similar to this with an old Neon I used to commute in. I was at a gas station and the car wouldn't start. All of the interior lights and even the vent worked when I put the key in the "ACC" position, but when I tried to start it up I got nothing. It ended up being a blown fuse in the engine compartment. The fuse was for the starter (amongst other things). I didn't have a big 30 amp one to replace it at the time, so I took the fuse for the radiator fan out and put it in until I could drive to an auto parts store (and drove with the heater on full blast!).

I would recommend checking the fuses in your engine if you haven't done so. Not sure if this is the problem you're having, but your story sounded a bit familiar.

Good luck!

Your car's still under bumper to bumper warranty, they'll either giove you a loaner or you'll get a mid-size rental, that's the experince I have had and 3 different Nissan dealrships...Had a Cadillac STS or CTS it was nice, wasn't the super powerful one, but man it rode like being on a cloud..got a Durango Hemi another time (f-that gas is too expensive now), and a Murano loaner once.

I'm kind of curious to know how the dude knew you didn't have enough brake and clutch fluid.... Did he inspect the car?

It also sounds like you have an electrical problem - possibly your alternator. Your intake did not cause this problem.

Good luck with the repair, my suggestion is that when they try to bs with you at the dealer tell them you allmost died and will sue if this is not resolved. I gurantee it will work, my local dealerships dont even answer the phone on me anymore. lol

thanks for all the advice guys, i will surely talk to nissan about it when i get my car there in about an hour or so. I will also snap pictures of the intake mount which is kind of weirdly welded. He thought it was my fluid because he checked the brake and clutch fluid and the line was below the minimum i think.. Well i'll update you on what happens

I might be mistaken though, on the fujita, is the mounting part (the part that sticks out) supposed to be facing towards the driver side or is it supposed to be facing up? I couldn't find a place to screw in the bolt to secure the intake. I think i might just be confused...

These are loufooo's pics instead of that part going that direction, it's pointing downwards and makes it impossible to mount it like that

Bravey the fujita had nothing to do with it.

Also K&n just released an intake. for 100 more dollars you get a better product with a thingy that funnels the air directly to the intake.

I would put stock intake back in before you take it to nissan just to be safe.

yeah, i was thinking of doing that but i talked to a nissan rep and they said it would only void my warranty to the stock airbox. Plus my stock airbox is locked in my trunk which i have no acccess to because i have no power in my car. I know you can pull the seats down but i have so much junk in my trunk that i can't even pull the stock airbox parts out of it. But it's too late anyways because it's at the dealership. It's pretty cool though, the service department at this dealership closes at midnight so they said they would give me a call in a couple of hours to tell me whats up with my car. Other dealerships close their service department at like 7pm here.

Sounds like an electrical problem of some sort. I would try jumping it with your second key insereted into the key slot.

You tried it with your second key? In your story you only mention trying to start it with you original key inserted into the slot. If you car has NO power at all, in any mode, then its a battery or anti-theft thing going on. I bet the latter since its not even a year old, and I bet it has to do with your programming. However, it doesnt make sense to happen after your cluth screws up.

Ohhh i see what you're saying now. I don't have access to my second key as it's in Houston at the moment. I live in San Antonio for college. But if i did have the 2nd key what would that do? Does that mean the first key in the key slot wont start a jump? I didn't know that.. I think you're right about the theft part too, I can't even unlock my steering wheel anymore.

Thanks man, I will keep you guys updated when i find out more news about my car. But in the meantime since i can't do anything about my car at the moment, anybody have any ideas why my fujita is facing like this(the white is what it basically looks like, i didnt have a chance to take pictures because it was towed to the dealership)But yeah, its facing the opposite direction and i cant bolt it on

OKAY! i just got my car back from the dealership and they told me they had to bleed out my clutch for about an hour and it works perfectly now. They also told me that i blew something about the battery connection, i cant remember right now but i blew some connection, that was why i couldn't start my car and had no power. But its all fine now!

And as for fujita, they sent me a new intake and told me i could do whatever i wanted with the original one!So all's good now!

When Fujita first came out with their intakes for the 2.5 it was designed for the CVT. A few months later the redesigned it with a proper support bracket for the MT. In the pic, the support bracket is of the original CVT design. My Fujita has the bracket exactly where you drew that white line... Unfortunately, they didn't update the instructions on where to mount the damn thing! I found that by unscrewing the rearmost bolt holding in the fuse box and replacing it with the rubber support bolt supplied with the intake, it fit absolutely perfectly.

Hmm double trouble, the battery and clutch at the same time. Boo on nissan.

FREE did you say free intake. Sell the messed up one on ebay for cheap or try to fix it.

if esp is right, then sell it to someone with a cvt. If that is the original cvt fujita then it should fit and you just got a free intake. Find someone around you with a cvt and test fit it.
