My car Bogged?

I was racing a civic hatch back yesterday and at about6k my car felt like it had no gas it bogged on me twice. I had my foot to the floor but at one point it felt like I just let go of the gas. I felt the lost of momentum. I think its my accelerator or bad gas. I was only ahead of the civic by half a car. damn! then of like usual theres a big dog joining the race. A 350Z came to the left of him and gave us a byebye hehe. At the light he rolled down his window and told me I should do better than that on the civic. I tried to explain but he was like "excuses" hehe.. Anyways what could this be? I tried it again that night and it didnt happen anymore. So I assume it was bad gas. Let me know your input

Too many variables in here...possible vaccum leak, possible MAF sensor, injector leak, the list goes on and on...
