Stupid crap.... It's an alpine, not sure of the model....

Last night i armed my car before going to bed, and when i tried to disarm is this morning nothing happened.... the light on the remote controller light up, but didn't disarm. I went to radio shack and bought a replacement battery because i thought it might be dead, no dice.

What the hell is wrong!? I can't use my car!

It's just a very basic one (i think)... not sure of the model.

Turns out the alarm was arming itself. I had to open the door, pop the hood and disconnect the speaker. It keeps arming itself!

Bump

Update: I removed the wire going to my battery that shuts off the speaker, but now my ignition won't even turn over.

Any ideas?

Car: anything with 4 wheels.

probably has a starter disconnect relay thingy. what it does is when the alarm is set off, the alarm system cuts power to the starter to prevent theft. You'll have to unplug the alarm system itself...i think.

typically, decent alarm system have backup batteries (usually a 9v) too. so that may explain why the speaker is off, but the starter function is still activated.
