and new tires....just an intake so far. just started workin on her

Well i guess i could have done alot worse. paid 10k out the door with 19k miles on it. its an 06 2.0L. Surprisingly a quick car especially with the intake. Handles great too. Definetly faster than my old vert, but nowhere near as fun as the good ole convertible. But i needed good gas mileage and something i can drive in the snow. anyone im done rambling. thats what i moved to. Oh and heres some old pics of my vert i USED to have:haha i miss RWD ^^^and end result:

Poor vert with a black eye...who did you sell it to again? I keep an eye out but I never see verts anywhere.

Man your vert was so clean...

Those damage pics make me cringe.

Honestly I'm not into Focuses and I would have bought something else if I had 10 grand but if it makes you happy, then that's all that matters.

Hopefully you'll get another vert down the road and be cool again. JK.

In other words... sell it and buy an EVO or STI.

Not that I am a Ford dude by any means , BUT the Focus SVT I drove in England so kicked *** for a POS and was half the price of my friends MINI CopperS J.C.works. However that engine is not available in the U.S. so yes you would need to do DeXteR's upgrades...

you guys need to cut him a little slack... you can't touch a decent evo/sti for 10k.

besides, a non-performance, 4-door, gas saver is GREAT for a college kid.

Agree 10K ain’t getting an AWD 2003-06 toy in any good shape but you youngsters have a very odd idea of college. I bought my 73 240Z in college? What happen?

What happened?? Everything got expensive.

Average college tuition + room & board: about $35,000 (private university not including financial aid).Gas prices: between $2.50 - $3.50 throughout the course of the year.Insurace: around $1000 per year (near national average). Sport coupes will be higher, especially if you've ever had a ticket.

Ugh...everything is money, money, money nowadays...

College tuition isn't too bad because I'm go to community college. Classes/books each semester cost me about $1,000. Gas prices are decent also. $20-25 usually fills me up every 2-3 weeks depending on my driving. Insurance is a killer though. I'm not even gonna get into that...

ok one. i could actually do a V8 RWD swap in the focus that is commonly done believe it or not, then i could drift around your 240's. j/k j/k i love 240s. i bought it cuz it was a cheap car with a WARRANTY and good on gas. I know i know its a sedan blah blah blah. it sucks. and they never made an SVT focus in europe. that was north american only. you prolly drove an ST 170. but thats the same motor in the north american svt, so i dont know where you got that from. HOWEVER, europe does have a 225 hp turbo inline 5 Focus ST currently. Oh and another thing, my car went through the slalom at something like 68.8 mph. Clocked faster times than EVO, STi AND Corvette Z06, so yea it can actually handle. Anyway enough rambling, i just bought it because it was in great shape, a good deal, and had a warranty so i dont have to pay to fix things, and yes ive used it. plus everyone hates on ford but my family has driven fords for years and they always turn out to be great cars! i blew the motor in my nissan at 110k. that sucks compared to the 325k still running on my moms old mercury. Eh whatever, its a car, it does the job just thought id share it with you.

WOOH i can ramble. please forgive me

Bingo! yes they never called it a SVT in Europe but Yankees don't know what a ST is and O no it was the 07 T5 Duratec that smoke the MINI and by all means ramble on, that is the point of forums. And don't take any of our hate because you do have a warranty any the rest of us will be under our hoods with a hammer at 3am HA HA

Speak for yourself. I'm regularly up till 3am wrenching on stuff without a hammer in sight.

Dealership service and factory warranties can suck my butt. :moon

funny part about my warranty is the guy that does any work for me owns two cars. one is an 04 SVT focus which he loves, and the other is a 93 240 coupe in white. go figure. but ive known him for a long time and he always has done great work, and i have used the warranty, got a new clutch out of it. (tsb on premature clutch wear) so yea that saved me some cash haha

A beater, yes, but not a newer car.

true a beater would be good, but i also needed something very reliable, not something that barely gets me from point a to point b. With this car i have one flat rate and almost no upkeep costs. a beater is a small payment in the beginning but you have to put in tons to keep it going. not worth it to me.

Eikon.... booooooooouuuuuuuuummmmmmmm Got it.your focus is alright but for the gas milleage I dont know. Its not so economic. Why you dont buy a honda civic or toyota? Oh and one thing to say. You have a open diff. But the car look nice. I have a ford for daily with a 8 cylinder. grand marquis. So you save on gaz between me. haha

Why not go for a G20 or Sentra man. Great cars with great performance. Plus good gas mileage.
