well i fianlly got to the dyno, after many months driving around on a LAME A$S fuel and ignition map, as well as a fualty CAS harness...

we made about 14 runs for about $70 US from the local Dyno - gotta love it..

the first 10 or so were a waste cause only after we found the CAS harness causing the ignition cut at about 4500rpm, thats after we changed the plugs and checked the coils, ah well...

finally it was the Deltagate that was the big let down. it made 9-11psi all night, then the last few runs it made ~11psi till about 6000rpm then it creppt/spiked hard to almost 17psi @ 7500rpm before i backed out. i ripped out the manual boos tcontroller, but ti was still spiking, i am thinking the deltagate is toast.. or the spring just cant hadle it..

i also didnt have the top vaccum port hookeed up so i think thats was part of it too, the boost/vaccum signal from the manifold would keep the diaphram closed under heavy engine load and boost... i'll try a few things over the weekend...

i changed the rev limit to 7500rpm for now and let me tell you, the boost spiking to 17 psi at 7000rpm IS CRAZY.. when everything is sorted i'll make a pull at 24psia dn see what happens..

Engine is as follows

CA18DET - JE 84mm Pistons 8.5 CR, Crower Rods. Total Seal Rings, Tomei 260* 8.8 PROCAMS, Tomei valve Springs and Cam Gears, HKS 1.6mm HG, Turbonetics T3/T04E 50T w/ .63 A/R stage 3 turbine, deltagate, 550's, walbro, XS engineering silvia intercooler, Haltech E6K, manual boost controller, etc etc...

I'd like to see what it looks like when you finally get things sorted out. I think that you've still got some power in there that could be freed up...

this car is rediculous right now, it is pulling 10psi by ~4500 and creeping to 17psi by 7000rpm so the creep is working like traction controll, i kinda like it, but at 17psi the car feels CRAZY..i bet its making MUCH more power right now than that pull on the dyno i posted.

but that cant continue, i want 17psi at 4500rpm, not at 7000... gotta get a new Wg

i'll sort it out and post the revised dyno graph @ 15psi and 20psi and take the revs up to 8000rpm...

on 10 lbs is a nice power figureWay to go!

The only thing that I wouldnt be able to bring myself to do that is on your setup is pay for the haltech--whew!. Very expensive. What other standalones do CA guys like to use? Someone mentioned the sds?

Although mine's not hooked up right now, I'll be running an Apex Power FC. It's plug and play, but still fully adjustable. From what I hear they are a good choice up to about 350hp. They're pretty popular in Japan...

i actually love the lag before 3800rpm... the car drives perfectly normal, GREAT gas millage... and a guy told me the other night that he didnt even realise my car was turboed till i went over 3800rpm and the blow off chirped a little. after 4000rpm hold on till redline.

the .48 housing would be better for autocross and drifting i am sure, but as i drag race more than anything i thought the .63 would have been a better choice..

i would like to get a .48 for next year to do some autocross and drift events.. fist i'll see how it does.. also a .86 jsut for kix to see what kind of power it makes.

once i keep the revs up, shifting at 7500rpm now, the car stays in boost and pulls like a demon.

your first run on that sheet looks like when i went and got my car dynoed. i put down 150whp/164tq with shoddy wiring and a horrid a/f ratio because of it.

thats a really nice figure at 10psi. im jealous as hell. i hope my car can do something like that at 14psi or close to it. youve got a much bigger turbo, camshafts and fuel management on me though. im really impressed. congrats on the good work. keep us updated!
