Okay so Ive had my CA18DET for about a year and a half now and finally after beating the sh*t out of it the head gasket let go. Its begun to leak coolant under #1 exhaust runner between the head and the block. Well here's where the fun begins. Instead of just throwing a head gasket at it with a plain ol" resurface its inspired an entire build and after a few months everything is finally here and I can begin my build/rebuild.

The list goes as follows:
Garrett GT2871R .63ar
Tomei Poncams
Cometic Head Gasket
ARP head studds
ARP rod nuts/bolts
ARP main bolts
ACL race compound main bearings
ACL race compound main bearings
Nissan OE piston rings
Nissan OE gaskets
EBAY turbo manifold (welded supports on it and the port matched and honed it, f'ing pos!)
KA24E throttle body
Deatschwerks 750cc injectors
HKS turbo back exhaust
HKS EVC6
HKS type 1 turbo timer
DIF oil and coolant lines for turbo
DIF oil restrictor for turbo
Stance turbo clocking kit
N62 maf
Jim Wolf Technolgy Tune
Drive Shaft Shop 1 peice drive shaft
ZEX 75hp wet shot kit #82021

Really happy to finally start this project (again lol). Gimme some feedback and lemme know what yall think. Peace

Hey !!! nice built, what is your HP goal?

Question can you actually feel a difference if you use the throttle body of the KA on the CA? We have a bad KA in the shop and I was thinking on getting the throttle body for my CA but dont really know if its worth the hussle.

Thanks

375+whp before the bottle so if i make 376 im happy lol. it does make a difference with a larger throttle body for increased flow into the plenum. on a stock setup its probably not good for much but the more power u build the more power the increased diameter will yield.

If nothing else, the increased throttle response is worth the work to swap to the KA TB. Pulling the intake manifold really isn't that bad of a job on the CA. If you do it right, you don't even have to drain any coolant from the system or remove the injectors.

oh ill be draining all the fluids. im rebuilding the whole motor. ive been punishing it for almost 2 years after it went thru w/e else in jdm-land and i kno whoever had it there had some fun coz it had a red top t25, act tripple puck clutch and split fire coil packs along with some serious hot spots on the flywheel so its lived an aventurous life im sure so its time to freshen things up now. im having the head and the block decked an imma measure all the bores and before the head does get machined ill gasket match it and polish down in all the ports. the main rotating assembly is all thats getting reused unless i feel like adding rods an pistons to my credit card but i try to avoid using that lol
