Awsome first post! Welcome to Nico. What kind of power were you making with the t28 and what are your expectations from the TD05?

What did you put in the enlarged pan to keep oil centered?

Swinging baffles of some sort, on hinges?

Do you ever get freaked out about going into your garage and possibly getting bit by a rattlesnake when you reach where you shouldnt?

I never got my car dyno'd with the T28. With the new setup im hoping to make close to 300hp on 19psi.

here in aus where i live, i have the choice of three tracks to slide. 2 tight and technical go kart tracks and 1 v8 supercar track, which is 3rd and 4th gear. So i think the td05 will serve me well for the drift tracks.

for the sump we just used hinges on each side. Sump holds 5L without oil cooler. Where do i find pics of that ca with the V mount???????

Pass on those. They crack badly and will likely put the turbo right where your steering shaft is.

The car looks awesome! Glad to have some more members from Australia on here.

I too would like to run a Mitsubishi turbo, but it involves me learning to weld so I can make my own manifold.

LOL, they prolly sell antidotes for 9 out of the 10 most poisonous creatures on earth at any local Gas Station, so I think he is safe.

Sick ride.

Wow incredibly sick setup man.

I have a few questions,

What trim is the td05?

Was it hard mounting the intercooler/radiator setup inside the engine bay like that?

I'm very interested in Mitsubishi turbos also and I have a manifold with a t3 flange, i was told that only the td06 20g bolts up to the manifold. I wonder how hard it would be to get a td05 fitted on my manifold.

^ You would need to weld a new flange on your manifold to run that mitsu turbo.

The td05 16g should be good for +/- 350hp. the 18g would put you in the 380hp range, and the td06 20g would do you about 400/420hp.

i can easily make the 16G manifolds still. i have the jig packed away on a shelf. i have two SR20 cars with them on them at the shop now, and a miata that just got one done last week. I am highly considering going back to the EVOIII and selling this EVO8 setup.

The td05 is a 16g, I dont no alot about it sorry as i picked it up second hand.

Its very easy to do the intercooler/rad setup. Just need to do alot of chopping. ATM im using a single 14inch thermo on a RB20det rad with no shroud and temps never pass 95 on a HOT australian day at the track. Ill attach some pics to show the setup alitle better.

I dont no alot about manifolds and what fits ect. But, My friends TRUST T67 10cm bolts upto the manifold, A td06 25g is the same as a T67 8cm.

P.S. The ca god of tuning here in Aus makes 220kw with a td05. makes 20psi by 3400rpm

This is with the front choped out

test fitting the core. You can see how i have bolted it in.

And heres how the rad is mounted. I just used some steel 4-5mm thick. 50mm width and long enough to go between the two castor rod braces. Then Just drill two holes in the steel for the legs of the rad, and two holes for bolts in the braces. For the top just bend the stock ones to suit. pics up the top

Hope this helped.

Good work magnus, I see the greddy turbo sits behind what looks like custom mounts??I guess to sit you sump higher the mounts required extending...

I am about to order a T67 25G for my second rebuild, but i wont fit mine on the low mount, however I did pickup a steampipe manifold (top mount) with 38mm wastegate from ebay uk for peanuts.. was a great find...

Ohh, and Sam is excellent, but god like, I am not too sure about that... hehe

Yeah I know the mounts, yours look different in the photo thats all, it looks like it sits higher, maybe its an optical illusion... how much clearance have you got for the turbo sitting on the low mount?

I have been a member of ns.com for many years, I am also in australia, in northen nsw...

personally wouldnt waste my time spending money on those mounts. fully threaded rod means there is no isolation in the mount.. might as well use alloy blocks as there will be exactly the same amount of vibration.
