Thanks Kyle.

I'm putting up Want-To-Buy threads on here and Zilvia trying to see if I can bring the price down. It's looking like it'll be roughly $1500 for everything if I don't get any "deals", and that's including $500 for the engine itself. And that's before getting money back for my KA.

Wish me luck :mike

Where did you have your machine work done? I am guessing it was here in Huntsville.

Have you seen some of these s13s running around Huntsville lately? There is this one turbocharged black hatch that looks absolutely awful. I think every body panel is dented in, and the front bumper is falling off. Guy tried to stomp on it next to me the other day and it just died. Pretty hilarious stuff.

you prob could since one thing ive noticed about nissan, they dont seem to change to many things since so many things cross over from one vehicle to another. I would only use one tho if its for a -det. i wouldnt truse a stock CA -de pump to fuel a -det. walbro's are so cheap that i wouldnt consider any swap or turbo project without one but that my honest opinion.

Yeah buddy I wouldn't buy anything but a Walbro for fueling my project car, unless you go bigger. Minimum Walbro.

I live in the Grissom area, off Weatherly. Sadly my s13 is sitting under a tarp in my driveway, and I don't see it being resurrected any time soon. I am just too broke! You may have seen it though, it was the only S13 with a CA in it back in the day. Tell your buddy to get that car tuned asap. My friend's parents were bashing it pretty hard. Haha.

I was going to get my work done at R&R too. Glad to know they have some CA18 experience now!

That's where my parents live! Right off Weatherly near the top of the hill. Small world.

I feel like I met you years back when I lived at home. We were down near Southern Family Market. I think I was there in my s13 with a friend in his s13, and I remember someone showed up with a CA18 hatch. I've never seen it again.

Sell me some CA parts! I'll be visiting my parents over the weekend (I live in Florence).

And Taylor Darwin's beat up hatch is a PIECE, but he's cool with it and wears the "missile-car badge" with honor.

R&R does awesome work. i cant even count how many blocks and heads and cranks and flywheels ive taken them. I always specify my surfaces to a 50ra finish for mls and they always come back perfect. i generally check them with a straight edge and theyre ALWAYS on point. I live in north huntsville of sparkman dr. I generally kick it on my end but sometimes I migrate that way, I even help the owner of Midnight Auto, Dustin Setayesh, with some fab work and things. I know most all of the s13 crew on the south end of town. Whats the deal with your ca?

cbh,

yeah I live in the same place. That was me who stopped by with the CA18 hatch. Shortly after that I broke a ring land on the interstate coming back from Auburn and the car has been completely disassembled since. I haven't been able to get it running because no one will give me a good paying job these days.

I would sell you some parts but honestly I don't have much left I am willing to sell. Ive got maybe (MAYBE) some stock cams, a clutch fan, a radiator that is a little beat up, and some 510cc injectors that need to be cleaned.

s13,

I am glad to hear they do such good work. I knew they did great work on domestic v8s and stuff, but I was unsure how much experience they had with little import engines like ours. Some day when I get a job that actually pays me I will get that stuff done. Some day!

What is this "midnight auto" place? I heard someone mention it recently, but I have not kept up with much car-related stuff here in town in the past few years. My friends and I typically stick to our garages. We have been busy putting together a naaasty Subaru for my friend after we put his last one in a ditch and bent the frame.

i'd be interested in the 510's, especially later on. my CA that i'm putting together will now be running a GT28R s15 turbo. i plan on just slapping it on with everything else left as is (stock ecu, stock cams, no safc, stock MAF, etc) but i will try to get an safc, wideband, and a maxima/z32 MAF later on. budgets suck.

midnight auto is a shop down the parkway across the street from the raceway gas station. it's located behind that beauty shop. it's run by Dustin, who is a super cool guy that does good work. he's a wiring genius too.

after a summer of driving, the hose coming from the valve cover to the can was brown, the other was still nice and white! :D

I am running dual catch cans and will say this..the intake side has MUCH more blow-by for me than the exhaust side did. Im not sure why, but after cleaning my intake manifold and head last winter, it's not getting to wet from blow-by anymore since using a dual catch can setup..its amazing and I love it!

The intake side gets more blowby because when you're getting on it, the rings load up and seal better and you don't get much blowby. Once you back off of it, the rings unload, you get lots of blowby and it's all sucked into the intake since the vac is higher there when you're off the throttle.

The reason I knew my rings were shot on my CA before I rebuilt it was because the car wouldn't smoke much under boost, but when I was decelerating in gear, it would make a terrible smoke cloud behind me. I put a catch can on the intake side and it quit smoking, but I was filling the catch can every couple of days.

I had smoke on decel, but its not terrible last i recall. I think I filled my intake catch can about 1/3 of the way about every month, month and a half, and it was stinky s***! lol I literally almost through up the first time I emptied (sp?) it out

Got bored in class today so I made a new coil cover for my CA. I made it a little shorter in the back to allow clearance for the coil harness and to help it vent heat a little better. Made from 6061 alluminum. 3 slotted holes in front are were done with a 1/4" end mill. Theyre 1/4" wide and 3/4 long, center slot offset 1/2" forward just for looks. The grooves are 1/4" deep and wide, heat fins are .100" think
