much darker in real life...it was dark and the camera does weird things with the flash...i was thinkin either keep the blue, or do that nurburgring gold they used on the skyline engine! that is one sweet gold:D

what did all of this cost you and what will you have to purchase to complete the install and drive the car? ... btw... how do we get through inspection with a ca18det? do they burn clean and confuse DOT when the look under the hood? I wouldnt think it would draw attention unless you have a flashy car.

thanksjw

right at the 1k price for everything needed to run it (stock basically) but the engine was $400 and the transmission was $200...

As for smog or whatnot, they don't test anything in florida...

you got the engine for 400? what about the turbo's manifolds and other goodies?

where did you get that nice looking engine that cheap? Now I'm jealous. I live in Delaware and in chicken country here, I'm sure I can get away with a lot as long as I have the boost turned down at the station. I'm worried that my Ca18DET swap will breech 2Gs when I'm done with it. I see many here who get them cheap and others (like most places) are quite pricey...

Is there any special place for good parts?

thanksjw

it actually fits nicely on the passenger dash...the CA harness unlike the SR is actually too long, so you just coil the extra harness in the passenger firewall! There are afew wires you have to lengthen, like the mafs and the o2 sensor...but its pretty straight-forward
