Well, for now I'm probably going to buy one of Keegan's t25's and rebuild it, and slap it on..... Someday I'll go bigger, but for now, I'm leaving it as is. Gotta leave room for improvement, cause if I jump into a t28 now, ill get bored quick running high 12's, and I'll have to get a bigger setup....ultimately wasting more money. So I chatted with Keegan, and we assessed some stuff, and I got a build plan ready. I sorta mentioned it above, but I started a log, that gets dated and Ill update, add or remove things that need done.

Ok, so I know I just posted like an hour ago, but I actually have a good reason. Got the lower rad hose pipe insert for the SOHC KA temp sensor, all cleaned up, and deburred. I used 150 grit sand paper to start, and then grabbed the dremel and used one of the thin sandpaper discs to finish it off. Thats where the shiny sides are from. I just went over it quick because I didnt want to remove too much of the metal, just the rust and deposits.

Before:

After:

I'm not sure when I'll get to install it, hopefully sometime next week, just gotta double check that I have a 5 gal drain pan, I'm pretty sure thats my size, but I just want to be on the safe side, dont feel like cleaning up a few gallons of antifreeze and water. Also, tomorrow, I'm going to look into removing the cluster and checking to see if they are actually plugged in or not. I need to find a thread somewhere on how to remove it.

s*** looks great man. I should do that w/ mine when I get the/a rad installed. What are ye going to paint it with or w/e to keep it from looking like it just did a few mins ago? lol.Didn't look all that bad today when u drove around. If it gets worse take a pic but you're still good to drive it, turbo's on its way out but its not gone yet.Lol at ppl tempting u with t28's.

Text sent about T28..... Dante ill text you in the AM about the T28 as well....I just realized if i can get the turbo for cheap the clocking parts and other stuff I can just buy. I'm just checking my options, I'd really like to not get screwed over if i do go T28 route, and I know if i pay full price, I wont have any issues, but if the price is cheap enough, I'll go T28..... But Tom what would you suggest paint wise, and would you paint just the outside???

So I finally got the motivation for today to go out and work on the car some more. All I wanted to do was get in behind the gauge cluster and make sure it was plugged in. I was told this would be a little bit of a PITA to do, I did it mostly with the door closed, and still managed to get in behind the cluster in less then 45 min. Only thing that sucks, stupid gauges are in fact plugged in. I know the wires are pinned correctly down from the ECU, and the dash harness "looks" to be untouched, so I'm only guessing, I need to get a working USDM DOHC and hope that it plugs and plays. IF ANY ONE HAS A WORKING USDM DOHC GAUGE CLUSTER IN PA, LET ME KNOW!!! A T28 may be in the works, assuming the price is what I've been told, as thats about what I have in mod moneys.....I hope it works out this way, i'd hate to throw on 2 different turbos. I still will need to do a compression test, but as Keegan said and from what I know, its too strong to be bad compression. The smoke only happens after its warmed up, and idling in nuetral at a redlight, it will then blow by me in a cloud of blueish smoke. Once I roll away, there is no more smoke.... I guess all the signs of a turbo going out. I think I saw a hue of white, but I think that was just steam, plus the windows are so tinted, it makes the blue turn to white...but if its white, that may be a possible head gasket??? I dont wanna be poking that with a stick anytime soon....

Ok, soooo, here we go. I gotta start off again by thanking Keegan and Tom for answering questions via text/calls. I decided at 3:30 to install the temp sensor in the lower rad hose. So I started by draining the coolant. Pulled the drain pull.

After the coolant was completely removed, I pulled the lower portion of the rad hose, to let it drain the rest.

After letting it drain, I pulled the top of the hose off the block and got ready to cut it.

Now, I decided to use the Middle of the nissan logo on the hose so that I could put the pipe in and be able to make the hose go back together without needing to tweak it once it was inside the bay. So I started by first taking electrical tape and making a straight line all the way around so I know where to cut.

After getting the line, I cut making sure I cut the nissan logo in half.

Here is the pipe installed, not lined up correctly, just put together.

Here I show a close up of what I am talking about when realigning the hose so that it fits stock.

Here is the hose reinstalled..

I tucked those wires into the rubber sleeves that are on the hose, I think they are supposed to go over the ends where it clamps to the block and rad, but its too tight a fit and I left them on.

So, I then started to fill the rad, only to get a whole gallon of antifreeze in and that was it. Keegan told me to start it up and idle till i could see the fluid rolling through and it would begin flushing the system, well needless to say, with the turbo having seals about to die soon, my garage filled with smoke as soon as the tstat kicked in. The fluid moved but didnt really burble, so I put the cap on, shut her off, dropped her down and filled the resivoir and took her for a drive, the resivoir was empty, and im waiting for it to cool right now so i can check how full the rad is. Here is the pic of the cloud of smoke, I think its time to rebuild this turbo soon lol.

Ok lemme know what you think.

lol damn son. Id say it is about time to yank and rebuild or replace that turbo. Good job on the temp sensor though, a lot of people wouldve just cut it and then gone "aw s***." Good luck with getting the rest of the antifreeze into the car, mine likes to give me trouble whenever I flush and refill too. I do what youre doing though, let it run, cool, then squeeze a little more in. Just make sure the reservoir has a little extra in it.

Small update, Wired the fans in this morning, only to discover after a short drive, that the car is puking antifreeze. I drove it straight back home, and tomorrow i guess I'll go out and check all the clamps to make sure they are tight, I think I'm going to go mad tight, i guess cause they were warmer when i tighted up, so if i do it tomorrow morning they will be cold and they it will be super tight. So yeah, thats all. After the holidays and I sell somethings, I got a plan for this car. Its going to be a controversy to some, but I'm bulding this thing to be amazing.

Yeah, it was the lowest clamp, i only tightened them with a screwdriver, not with a 10mm, so i went back and tightened them all down, and I was fine.... It's good now. I installed some rear speakers, lol...I didnt wanna post any pics cause I know MGE would rip me a new one, they are in a box and are bungee corded in place, and the wires arent tucked or anything, just there for my trip to lanc tomorrow. I'm using the GPS for my speedo. I hope it makes it, taking oil and coolant with me incase something happens. But i dunno what half a gallon of distilled water and a half quart of 10 w 30 oil is gunna do me. LOL.

Ok, so I said I wasnt going to post any pics, but I'm going to post one of my rear speaker setup for the moment. They make quite a difference, but, they wont be like this forever. The box is that color because they were originally in my Taurus years ago, and that was the color, I made the box. The plexiglass cover maximizes the bass created by the speakers. But anyways, they are easily removable. Oh, and I drove it to lancaster and back today, feels great, I love that I have the ability to merge faster then most anyone else around. Its a little loud, and there are some fumes that choke me after a while, but i found that they are actually worse with the windows down, but I smell like a 2 stroke motor. Now I gotta go update Tom's thread.

Ok guys, so I just ordered my "controversial" set of parts for the car. I know I will get crap from one end, and praise from the other, its like 240 politics, and I'm for the first time in my life, the radical, not the conservative. Only the few that know right now, know what I'm getting at, LOL. Looking forward to it.
