and so it begins, my original plan was a 1jz set up for drifting purposes but the more and more i needed to complete it, it was hurting my bills and almost getting me into trouble. so as far as completing the 1jz setup it was in mounted and sat very well using none other then TWO ka driverside brackets and modifying the stock trans x member pics included of the mounts

now fastforward to a lucky break for me and a loss for my friend MWHAHAHA

my buddy had a rb25 in his s13 which happen to have two broken exhaust studs on cylinder one.( so ghey) so he was in the process of drilling them out and drilled alittle to far and HELLO OIL PASSAGE! now i felt bad for the guy so me being the good friend that i am i took sometime to think about it( all of about 25 seconds) and told him ill buy all his setup an agreement was made and i then purchase a rb25 s2 longblock from JDM of MIAMi so thanks to those guys! i spoke with carlos great guy i recommend them! now im here in between putting in motors and selling motors, now for pics!

THE CAR

Current mod list for RB25detn1 water pumptomei timing belttop mount setup 550cc injectorsFmic blah blah fuel management will be done with either a safc or greddy ultimateim not shooting for the sky in horsepower

his set was the same but running a t67 at 14psi it made 350 to the wheels

PROBLEM: i hate lag. the t67 was ok full boost by 4200ish

i need your help on selecting a responsive turbo i was thinking a 60-1 like i said later down the road maybe shooting for 400hp, i just want response

PICS!!!!any advice questions or concerns PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!

thanksRiley

Interesting... so a 1JZ fits with stock hardware and minimal fab? Kind of cool...

For the turbo I'd say if you want response a GT30R or GT35R (very balanced size comp/turbine wheel turbo... you'd be surprised) are your best for that power level... see if you can pick up a Greddy manifold when you get a chance... can't imagine the modified unit you have is helping much more than plumbing simplicity...

Interesting build... keep us posted!

yeah its absurd to pay 1200 dollars to companies for something that an avergae joe can do. it sat quite well sure it could be moved farther back but i like having room to work in the bay( and for drifting purposes it doesnt make a dramtic affect) yeah im working with my limited budget still so a greddy is in order just a little later down the road.

my advise is to move the location of the wastegate on that manifold..i have the same manifold and experienced boost creep like no other with it mounted where yours is..best place is to move it right off the side of the collector .

awesome what about chopping it down and weld the flange right at the bottom of the collector?

GT30R with a .63 exhaust housing will give you that kick you need. Or just a 50trim with a .63 will spool fast on a 2.5.
